So what is your time worth?
well my education at the air force academy is estimated to be worth some 350,000 dollars... Military history major, and i pay for nothing.

However, if I savved up for a year, I would have enough to buy a new camaro 2ss in cash, which brings me to my qurstion.

Should I buy a camaro first, and start school a year from now, at age 22, or sshould I just go to school and wait like 6 years, maybe more for my income to jump? Either way I'd go to school but idk if 22 is too old for college.

Thanks in advanced guys! Your educated responses will have a big impact on my future!
Well it seems like you've got a couple choices.

You can buy a 2010 now and bust your butt trying to pay for the car and school, if you even continue.

Or you can go to school, buy a new Camaro when you've got a sweet job and trade up to the new model Camaro every couple years.

GO TO COLLEGE!!!!

However, If you can save up over 30,000 in a year, I'm guessing you already have several grand saved up. You could wait a year, have over $30,000 saved.

Then, GO TO COLLEGE!!!!! DO NOT BUY A CAMARO.

OH Yeah, Take at least $15,000 of that $33,000 and put it in a High Yield Interest saving account and DO NOT TOUCH IT UNLESS YOU ARE IN REAL DEEP, DEEP TROUBLE. Yes, I know interest rates currently are in the toilet.
They want stay there forever.

My definition of REAL DEEP, DEEP TROUBLE.
  • You or a Direct Family Member could Die.
  • You are in danger of NOT being able to pay for a College course and you are close to getting your degree and DO NOT HAVE ONE YET.
  • All your other savings accounts are DEPLETED.

Take the other $15,000 and put it in a normal saving account and use it to pay for COLLEGE and cover yourself in case your current employers decide they NO LONGER want work around your classes. Meaning you are told to chose Work or College.

If things go well you will have at least one Degree and be able to get a Professional Job and have $15K plus Interest to your Name.

pick up a nice 2002 Z-28 with low miles in good shape and get into school ASAP...delaying 1 year of school could cost you a year of earnings at the end of your career.......with an MBA that might be a lot of money.

Braggart!

Yeah my oldest had a free ride at the naval academy but I talked him out of it because I told him he didn't need to have women acting like men yelling at him.

He could save that for marriage.

lol, the yelling did get old.. i could've gone to embry-riddle for the price of a camaro, but my dad would've killed me if i turned down a free education with a guaranteed job at the end.

(I usually don't mention the place, but i couldn't resist when you started showing off )

Let me tell you a true story to answer your question.

My brother barely graduated HS and never went to college. He's 29, works for about $9/hr at a resaurant and lives with his girlfriend's grandfather...sleeping on the couch. My sister dropped out of HS. She's 27, doesn't work and lives in a trailer that her boyfriend provides. She is totally dependent and therefore, totally helpless. She has no control over her life or her future.

I have a BA degree and a JD degree. I make good money, I'm married to a smart sucessful women, live in a nice house with a 52" LCD tv, and I own a new, fully loaded 2010 2SS Camaro. Before that I owned a new fully loaded Trans Am WS-6. I'm 37. I have just about everything I want, within reason.

That's the power of an education.

Sorry I don't mean to offend its just my way.

No offense taken. Is she hot? Hard for me to say. Probably yes, in that illiterate, redneck, too much makeup, kind of way. Sorry. I'm a little bitter and disappointed.

Go to School; Then fill your garage.

I decided not to go to college after high school (1977). Got great jobs, was making great money for a young man. Had pretty nice car, 1957 Chevy, and had dreams of some day having really nice cars. it just never happened. All the sudden at work, young college kids were threating my job. By now I was in my late 20's. No nice cars, driving a Pontiac T1000. making good money, but other things cost money too.
What do you do?
I quit my job!
Decided it was time to go to school. At 30, I went to college. In 3 years, I graduated (worked my butt off) by the way I was a paper boy (from 30 to 33) to keep the bills paided: it was a living hell. But in 1992 I got my new job.
A school teacher, I could have picked a higher paying job but I did not.

What is the point?
Education is the door to your dreams.

Now the rest of the story.....

It is 2009.
Have the nice cars I always wanted,
1957 Chevy, My first Hot Rod aftering graduating.
1936 Chevrolet Street Rod, Super Street Rod, Up-to-date and cool.
Heck, 2001 PT Cruiser, Like the look. Looks Like and old street rod.
2005 Chevrolet SSR, Hot Rod Pick-Up truck.

All of my dreams have come true!!!

But wait.....

Then there was the new 2010 Camaro.

GOT ONE!!!

IOM RS/SS w/black stripes. Too Cool.

How could this happen?

EDUCATION, makes you smarter, makes you dream.

IF YOU DO NOT DREAM BIG; BIG DREAMS DO NOT COME TRUE!

Work your butt off for a few years; it will pay you back for the rest of your life.

See Ya' on the Highway!

Wow. If you are having a hard time with this decision then college is going to be tough for you!!!

Some advice that will make it a little easier:
1- You might want to avoid the parties.
2- Study all the time. One professor told me to study for three hours for every hour of his class if I wanted to pass. That bastard was right.
3- Stick with a degree with a strong mathematical background. No decisions, you either know the right answer or you don't.

After watching the news tonight I changed my mind. Blow off school and buy the car. infact buy as many as you can. They make it sound like america's about done anyway.
