I hope you can get the car straightened out and get a rematch. I need some hope.

I was researching stall converters and one article (I can't find it now) terrified me about reliability.

Man, I hate to hear that. Correct me if I am wrong but one of the bright sides of this is that you have a lot more potential locked up in you engine as you haven't even done a Cam swap yet, right? Aside from what issues you have to iron out. And you did outrun him once. What did his 60' look like?

Ok from what I gather. Trans tuning is off. I'd recommend a lower tire pressure. 15-16 psi for this time of year. Keep launching the car the way you are now. Shame you won't see track time again. Possibly find a dyno that simulates the 1/4 mile and tune the trans that way. It's a neat experience. That's how we tune my 95 race car.

Im just wondering what could be off.....i did a test hit going onto the highway from a truckstop 1st and 2nd and it shifted at 6000 rpm. Im not seeconding guessing its just that i dont know much about that. I got so excited that i didnt even think to see what gear or what rpm in crossing the traps at. If I watch the vid on my laptop where its bigger with better sound it looks like my car leaves hard put seems to fall off about the 100 ft mark...does it look like that to you or no.

I did outrun him but he was gaining large on the top end...if the track was 10 ft longer he would have passed me. No cam swap and I dont have longtubes...im really wondering if they make that big of a deal...i went 112 with my shorties and high flow cats But wonder if I need longtubes to get higher then that.

Looks like that to me. The 1.8 sixty is probably a little tire spin. The point where the car falls on it's face is likely the tuning issue rearing it's ugly head.

Ok thank you....i know the Mustang is pulling hard but if im trapping 113 or so that may be enough to hold him off if i can work my launch better to put a little more distance on him from the start. I thought the car looked like it was kind of falling off a bit.

No drag radials 1.9 was his best sixty. I knew he had more then just headers and a cai done. That Boss intake really works in the higher rpms without sacraficing anything down low. It sure pulls hard. He thinks the car has a little more mph in it because he does have to pedal 2nd gear. But....in reality i knew he would be hard charging but i also expected my car to run better then what it did. The 107 with full boltons gears and converter is not something im happy with. I expect way better

From trapping 111 to 112 a year ago to this. Seems im going in reverse. And to add to it there is a huge Nostalga weekend going on so ive only ran 3 times. Heres the only vid i have.

Your friend needs slicks and some rear suspension for easy 11 second slips. Good race either way.

What was the DA? How bad was the car heatsoaked when you got up to make you pass? Elevated ECT and IAT will have the computer pulling out timing, significantly in some cases. That's a pretty miserable trap speed, definitely down on power a little for some reason.

11 to 14 5.0's are strong. (not saying s550's are a slouch..but..) Doesn't take much at all it seems to get them into the 11's.
