It stays on because it assumes the driver is still in the car since their door was never opened after taking the keys out.

If I'm not mistaken, the IPOD should power down on its own after a period of time. You may want to check your IPOD settings.

My Avalanche does that. Had to spray a bit of WD40 on the plunger switch the depresses when the door closes. It wasnt fully extending when the door opened, therefore, the radio didnt know to shut off. Worked like it was supposed to after that...

its also set on a 10 minute shut off delay unless the drivers door opens... not sure if the passenger door does the same.

These cars don't have plungers or any sort of visible switch. Not that I could find at least.

Matter of fact, I have no idea how the hell it senses door open vs closed.

Also on these cars if you open the passenger door it won't trigger the ambient lighting to come on only when you open the driver door

Neat feature, when you let out folks while you're still in the driver seat.

You can pull the seat down from the inside ?you don't have to pop something loose in the trunk first to drop the seat down?

Nope, there is a little cloth or leather tab at the top of the seat you pull and the back will lay down. I think the convertibles require a key to lay it down but I don't know for sure since I don't have one.
