Why do you doubt the SRT8 would be similar to the Camaro? I hear the same BS from Challenger owners about the Camaro (they have not driven the other either ). In reality, the cars are similar enough in the performance that user preference or brand loyalty is often the deciding factor. Other differences are price and the interior\trunk space, which are both tangible differences.

From all the test I have read they are close but the camaro has won in every test. Like I said I have not driven one so it is just merely an opinion from reviews. If you have one and are offended then I am sorry to step on your toes. The challenger is the best looking car on the market but it is not the same or better in performance. This is merely my opinion and I do not regret getting the camaro. If I had enough money I would gladly own both.

Well it looks like the decision is leaning heavily towards the Camaro right now as there are just no deals on the Challengers that can bring the price down enough to justify the Chally over the Camaro, the best I can find on a loaded manual 2009 SRT8 is at invoice which is still 9 Grand more than the 2SS I priced at Supplier Pricing through my Credit Union. Now I just have to come to grips with the moment I pull up in front of my father's (MOPAR man) house once I pull the trigger on the Chevy and I still have to fight the battle with the wife over getting a manual tranny... The cool thing is when I stopped at the dealer last night with the whole family (wife, 7, 5, and 2 year old daughters and my 6 week old son) my two older girls thought the Inferno Orange with black stripe was the "most awesome thing they EVER saw". My 5 year old was asking me today "you gonna get that cool car today daddy, are ya, can I go get it with you?" Too cool, then my wife says "yeah, that color is cool now, will it still be cool 5 years from now?".... I say FNA RIGHT IT WILL STILL BE COOL!!!!!

2010 challengers are offerd in the origional colors like plum crazzy and that awsome yellow! I myself have driven the new camaro 1ss and 2ss and would not own that over my chally which is an 2008 srt8. I would however buy an slp camaro and am going to. But the challenger gets way more looks and thums up when i drive with my buddys and there new camaros.
Not to mention i beat them all! The challenger with a programer and exhaust is killing every camaro it comes across.

No matter what you decide, you will still be my Brother. Anyone driving anything that is American Muscle I can't help think of as a compadre in this workaday world of EconoBlobs. Anyone driving one of these is welcome to share a beer with me at any of the Satruday night car shows

In a perfect world I'd like to own a new GT500KR, the Challenger SRT8, my 2SS and a Z06. It truly is the Golden Age of modern performance.........Good Luck on whatever you decide.......they are all great cars.

If you're buying an auto and are worried about headroom you may want to go test drive the SRT and see if it suits you, I know the camaro is lacking in the headroom dpt.

I was getting so impatient waiting for my 2SS to come in that I was leaning towards a Challenger SRT8 or the Mustang GT500. I'm glad I waited and have no regrets. The Camaro is truely an awesome car.

I work for Dodge, I'm a mechanic.
I bought the Camaro.

Cheaper, faster, better looking, much better interior, better warranty (for the bad boys SS vs. SRT8)

I have a 300C srt8 and just ordered a camaro ss a few weeks ago. The srt8 is a good engine but the 300c and challenger are definitely more expensive than a camaro ss. I think the camaro looks better than both and if you were looking at the challenger or camaro you obviously don't really need big back seats. I am keeping my 300C also because it is four dours and a better commute car than the camaro.

And to think I was considering that last year before I knew the Camaro was going to go into production.
