What gas do you use?

Put in 87. From costco last week all was fine Went to a local station today and it started to knock when coming up my steep driveway. Can I get by with 89?

I believe the SS' recommendation is at least 91. I put in the highest they have; right now a mix of 93 and 92 occupies the tank.

I've used nothing but Mobil 93 octain since my 2SS/RS was new and the dealer filled it with a 93 octain at delivery. It's only about three dollars difference a fill up so why not ?.

If you bought the SS you'd be crazy to put anything less than 91, definitely no 87.

I think the 6 should be ok on 87 but i would go higher you would get better performance maybe even slightly better MPGs.
Over in Europe they run on 95 less polution and better MPG's is what they say it does.

I only use 93 octane from Shell... or a half/half mix with 104 triple-filtered at the track.

50/50 109 Octane and 93 Octane.

That LS3 really likes high octane fuel.

He meant that a fill-up of Premium only cost about $3 more than a fill-up of Reg (20 gal x .30 diff = $6), so the math may be off a bit depending on how much you put in and how much more it is, but that's what he meant.
