wtf you have to put the high octane in that 400+ hp car. Lower octane will screw up your engine by causing detonation. Read up on it and splurge a little on the gas. If not get yourself a honda and drive it hard all day on regular gas.

In an SS or any other GM performance cars never use anything less than 91. Even at 11 years old my Firebird never gets anything less than 92 or 93 even when gas prices were really outrageous.

The V6 cars I'd imagine will be fine with 87 but you have to check your owners manual, because it will tell you for sure there.

I have a 1SS L99 and needed to do the fuse pull. I only use Sunoco Ultra 93 unless I really need gas and there are no Sunoco stations nearby, then I use another brand of 93. There are some places in New England that only has 91, Vermont and Maine come to mind, if I find myself there, I use the 91. The SS starts at $31,000.00, anyone that can afford that can afford the high test. In the Boston area, the 93 is roughly $.25 higher than the 87. If you are bone dry, we are only talking a $5.00 per tank difference. Don't cheap out on your Camaro.

I use 93 and when I take it to the track I'll mix it 50/50 with 109

I can't believe you put in 87 Octane...does it require premium?...If so, stop being a cheapskate and give her the good stuff! (hehehehehehehehehe) And don't use that crappy gas from Costco...get the good stuff! Shell, Exxon, Sunoco, or Mobil!!

Size: 2.8 KBI use Shell 93 with nitrogen. Good stuff with additives to keep the intake and injectors clean.

Don't use Citgo! It will make your American Muscle Car regurgitate.

All gas is blended from any local refinery in your area. The name brand makes no difference, only the additives the put in the fuel. Mobil does not even own a refinery in the US. Valero is the biggest refiner in the US. Thats where I work.

Thanks Teddydog- Do you believe you actually had to explain that ?.
There's about a .25c differance here and I never let the tank go down to a 1/4 tank before a fill up on my SS. $3-$4 a week for me.
