Rookie question: help with mylink touch screen on 2012 model
I know this must have been talked about thousand times on this forum, but mine is a little different. I know the touch screen is integrated in the faceplate of a 13-15 model. Can I just upgrade the old faceplate without replacing the radio unit (the box behind the faceplate)? Better yet I wonder if the mylink faceplate can work without a radio unit, and just keep the audio player function since Im not a big fan of radio.
Pardon me if it's a dumb question... |

No it will not work that way, you will need the 13-15 head unit. The guys at GEN 5 DIY can get you going perfect with what you are desiring to get done.

Thanks Deg Man. They are selling the whole kit including harness and reprogramming for like $1,800. If I do not need the radio to work, is reprogramming is still needed?
I would prefer to buy from ebay and go plug N play. It will cost much less. |
