Most GM/Chevy dealers should have one. I got one a long time ago from my local dealer. Call around I'm sure they can find you one.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Since Ropn Hodgsen is now a chev dealership
i thought i would go in so that i knew i would be at the top of the waiting
list...again....

arrived at the dealership in my SS and grabbed a bite to eat. Before i was finished in the
food line my old salesman who pretty much took my money handed me
my keys and said bye, tapped me on the shoulder with a big smile and
was asking how i was enjoyin my car.

I wasn't to impressed with his services lastt time but i figured im ordering
a car... not really looking for a sales experience.

I told him it was time to upgrade to a Z28 and that they were confirmed and i wanted to
be back at the top of the waiting list.

I told him im not leaving any money till a price engine and all that jazz was released.

So,

we went to his office he took my name and said "ill call you if i hear anything"

not once did he call me when i ordered my SS. I had to go in everytime and find out all the info (production date, order reveived...)

I re-instated that i better be at the top of the list and all he did was right my name in his little notebook....

Im asking you now...

Should i stay with this salesman (possible loyalty discount)
Should i stay at RON HODGSEN
Should i go to a different dealer? Which one?

WOW ... tough question eh ..... Have they looked after you at all ???? How is their service been ???? Do they have other sales people there ???? I come from a sales background and the one thing I have noticed in the last 15 years , you have to trust your " gut " when it comes to this. I know it's not the yes/no answer .. Let us know what you do :-)

Service? At Stedelbauer? uhhhh alright i guess.

I had my car towed in because there was a power steer leak. Turned out
the hose fell off.

Then after 4 months of ordering my mud guards and going in every 2 weeks to check on them, the parts guy that i was dealing with the whole time (4 months) told me that he's not the guy i go to, but i gotta see Service.

So i walked over to service and sure enough they were on the shelf in dust. (arrived 2 weeks after ordering them). I dropped my car off the same day CLEAN and i got it back all covered in dust and pictures on my trunk drawn in the dust . They apologized and the Service manager when to tear into the mechanic but he said it was there when he got it. ITS HIS WORD AGAINST MINE. They offered to rinse it off... I said "No, but if it is scratched, I will be back and you'll have to get it replaced."NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN!!

But i have also been in the business for 2 years and it is mandatory to call the customer 1 week after delivery, 1 month and on their birthday and wedding anniversary. 1 year after a letter gets mailed commencing the special date they received there new vehicle. All of those have happened (1 week, 1 month, birthday) and not a single call or letter.

I never once got a call other then telling me that there was a yellow CORVETTE in there shop that just came off the truck.
I was pretty pisssed. Can you imagine if they ordered me a CORVETTE by accident? It turned out to be my CAMARO but that right there kinda hit the spot. I always went to the dealership to find out my updates and the dont even know what car I ordered!!!!

Like give me a break, I know its just a car that we're all after but there has to be a line drawn.

Was it the salesman fault? Yes, I wouldnt hesitate for one moment. But did he get me the car I worked countless hours for and looked forward to everyday? Yes.

I think when it comes to ordering a vehicle you never know what to expect. The salesman doesnt have to work (other then do a build sheet), you know exactly what you're getting and the price, no hidden numbers.

Would it be nice to get those calls, maybe a couple perks? Im totally game for that. But its no different then going out to a resturant or wal mart. You go there for one reason and you know what you want when you walk through the doors. You have a 95% idea how everything will go and thats that. That 5% is where the Waitress/Greeter/Salesman make all the difference. And i guess my salesman wasn't part of that 5% because he is in it for the money and a pretty slack day. Which is where im stuck.

A Z28 it not a forsure for me. My dad told me he knew of a buyer that would take it off my hands for more than i paid for. Dont ask me how much. So then i started to seriously consider it and thats the only reason im looking at a Z28.

Im not going to put any money down till I have a confirmed Z28 price and engine and till the buyer signs the papers.

I just want to jump on it now if everything does work out for the better.

Is there routinely a Camaro sitting in a dealership in Edmonton? I live in Grande Prairie, and I want to at least sit in one before I plunk down money on it... So I need to take a trip to E-Town in the next month or so, lol.

i would definitely call around to some dealerships before you make the trip. I haven't seen to many on dealer lots lately, and if I do they don't usually stay there to long

BB SS ... I would look around for a different dealership IMO ... The service department reflects the WHOLE dealership ( again IMO ) If that is thier attitude ... next .... I understand that this is only a car to them, but it is not the cookie cutter lot car either that they are forced to take. They "must" treat this car different look around to some of the smaller dealers , they would be proud to have you as a costumer. Let us know what you find out eh :-)
