That was my thought. Seems an odd place for the trunk release though...

no keyhole. That is either a trunk release or a GAS CAP RELEASE.

You know what? That gas cap looks like it has a special design where you have to open it by hand. I doubt GM changes the look of the gas cap. So, that MUST be a trunk release. That's right where they are...the trunk releases...usually. It won't be a keyhole. No reason to have a keyhole right there. Used to be keyholes up top on the ttops to lock them in place. But, nothing down there by the door that needs a key. My guess....must be the trunk release.

Its not on the passenger door and you really cant see it any better in this shot so I would say it must be a trunk release. And if you look really close the icon on the button it looks like the shape of a car with its trunk open.

all this crying about cup holders. we need to be more like europeans, shut up, quit drinking and eating in the damn car. Fix the highways so we don't have to spend hours in traffic!

seriously i want a 6 speed there doesn't need to be much drinking going on in there. not to mention the few hundred times i've sent a bottle flying across the car in a curve.

I like it and know there will be changes. i just can't wait to get the car!

I agree, I think it might be a trunk release button...But it is an odd placement for it.

Wait...are you talking about the concepts gas cap?...because I must have missed something if the 'real' one has been revealed...

And you know the first thing I thought of, when I saw that thing and tryed to see a keyhole?

...Bugatti Veyron. there's a keyslot under the door (you have to open the door to get to it), you pop the key in, twist - and the whole car hunkers down, and the spoiler retracts....

but no. it's not a keyhole.

Veyron....

its a trunk release... same place (well, similar place) as to where the trunk release is on the Malibu, G6, etc.

I would love to put a massive amount of time and money into like a 1981 Malibu, paint it light brown, and turn it into a car that can out perform a veryron. Even if all that remains is the bodyshape and the VIN, it can be done!

Dragon, I was talking about the concept gas cap. It appears as though you have to push down a piece, pull up the other, and twist to open. Didn't mean to infer about any other gas cap.

Turtle, thank you for pointing that out. That spot is fine by me for a trunk release. It that's where the release is for the other cars, guess we can pretty much be guaranteed it'll show up here.

I agree on the pic of the car w/ the trunk open for that button. That's kinda what it looked like to me. But, w/ the pic blow up, my resolution was shot and it was too hard to tell.

Something else I noticed...

Who here has ridden, driven, or drives in a 4th Gen? Anyone notice how poor the interior lighting is in a 4th Gen? I don't know about other people's 4th Gens, but mine has poor lighting. Now....

Take a look in front of the rear view mirror. That looks like one LARGE clear peice which is most likely going to be the interior light. If it is, thank goodness. That sucka looks like it's going to light up the entire cabin....finally, I'll be able to see inside at night if I choose! Also...notice the interior roof of that prototype up on the car carrier has the reverse "Mohawk?" It looks similar to the 4th Gen roof style where the center is lower than the sides. I love how they do that. Very cool, IMO!!!

if that interior roof looks like that in the production car, I have a killer idea on how to add some light to the interior... when we get ours, I'll have to bring it down and show you when I get it hooked up
