Last year I said if this car went into production I would trade mine in a minute. Well I must now retract my statement extremely disappointed. I might get flamed for saying this, but IMHO the green looked a lot better. However the blue would be acceptable to me if it we chromed like the green, but sadly it is not. That paint not acceptable to production? Is that not the kind of thing that makes a special edition special? What about the hood? Putting a regular hood on it? Another fail! I will be willing to bet the rear end defuser, exhaust and tail lights have been left off from last years car as well. Probably another fail. To me last years SEMA's car was a "Special" Edition! This one is WAY too watered down for me. A few stickers, rims and stitching ain't doin it for me sorry. Very disappointed, I really was wanting one of these. :(

I was never a fan of the European tail lights, and I bet the switched away from the green cause they already made the synergy green edition so they needed to make it a different color so they don't just keep using the same color over and over

That hood would be a HUGE seller if they can make it I wouldn't mind those rims either

But really, Making a hot wheels edition is overkill. It's so ridiculous and I believe is sending the wrong message where the Camaro is concerned. In my opinion, it's hokey and cartoonish. But hey, it's just my opinion so flame suit installed. I hope GM sells a billion of them and the Camaro legacy will forever be known for Tranformers and Hotwheels instead of a serious performance car.

Sent from my abacus using precise finger movements......
I agree with this. Sometimes I wish the Camaro was never in Transformers.

I already said it once but the SEMA Hot Wheels car that was featured in the green color should have been the model to release.

I think the Disciples need some fresh new faces.
And what about that model was "new"? A hood? Wheels? Radical paint-job? Those three things weren't produceable, hence why it was called a concept. If they had forced it through the ringer to make production, we'd have ended up with this car, except in Synergy Green.

It's easy to say things. But it's not easy to follow-through.

Are the 1LE wheels "new"?

And careful with bringing the disciples into this. I don't think you fully understand their role. (At least, not based on what you said) They provide general "visionary" feedback to the Camaro team from the enthusiasts. They do not dictate or influence small decisions regarding the Camaro. I think they're doing a fine job...their input has helped produce a generation of Camaro that consistently outsells its competitors and has reignited the Camaro enthusiast community like never before.

As someone said earlier...they may not be as appealing as, say...a 1LE...but these special editions keep the Camaro on the map. They're a relatively inexpensive method to keep generating new news and discussions surrounding the Camaro. That...no matter what the models look like...is a GOOD thing.

EDIT: If there's any real doubt in a person's mind about the seriousness of Camaros performance....the issue is them, not the car.

It's a cost issue. If they built that EXACT car. The package would include new wheels, hood, custom paint, rear diffuser, rear fascia, side rockers, front splitter, spoiler, striping, any interior accents and badging. The package cost would be tremendous.

I do agree that compared to the SEMA version this one is lame, but that's a custom car. It's not something easily reproducible unless you want to market a $60k hot wheels edition.

I'd call it Thunderhawk.
That would be great. lol Not sure how many would even get the reference.

I disagree. Special editions are a great way of keeping things fresh. It's what the Mustang has done for years and it works well. They are not for everyone but that's why they have many different ones. Something for everyone. Not everyone likes Synergy Green and not everyone will like Kinetic Blue. The Hot Wheels edition is a good value for what comes with it. (Wheels, Grill, Stripe, Splitter, interior and exterior badges, etc.) It will sell well. Then at some point the color will be opened up to any model. Scott and the Camaro team have always delivered on every REASONABLE thing we have ever asked for. Keep the faith.

On a side note I have already found the actual Hot Wheels version of this car and it is on the way to my doorstop. EBAY!

Agreed. The beautiful thing is that if you don't like it, you don't have to buy it.

I already have mine!

I do wish they made the hood. It's interesting that their is no pics of the rear end, the small hot wheels is a new casting compared to the '10ss and ZL1, and it has euro taillights and quad exhaust.

No Euro tail lights on the back. You'll get a good peek at the whole car on Monday...this information is a little ahead of the curve...
