Anything more and yes you get a lot of competition new and used.

New C7 with mods (mind i dont care about warranty on a car i look at to be a hot rod)
Used ZR1
Used Z07 (carbon brakes and aero upgrades)
Used 997 Turbo
maybe a GT-R (although i find them to be ugly)

I may have missed it but is there a build total yet? Leno said 1500/yr and i remember there being a 2 year window.
3k cars. This might be discounted in year 2 as some Z's sit on the lots.

I know Corvettes started running into selling issues about a month after availability

(at this point i still have my 65k target - and im not sure i want the 1LE as my heart was set on the z/28)

You can probably find a brand new z07 for that price if you look. I found brand new z06s for $65k. It would ride nicer, be faster, has a/c, nice stereo, etc.

Actually, I need one with AWD and higher ground clearance, for this winter we're getting in the North.

12 more weeks ...

People are saying add these things to the 1LE and you would come up witht he same price. I think those people need to stop adding and consider replacing. You don't add a ls7, you replace a ls3 with a ls7, you don't add ceramic brakes, you replace the 1le brembos ect ect. Then you take away carpets, insulation, back seats, belts, radios and AC, replace the already absurdly priced 1le wheels and tires, replace coilovers and rear end and don't forget to tac on flares/spliters/spoilers/40k.

He said it was ONE of the reasons you can't compare 1967 prices to 2014 prices.

I knew it! I have been saying it would be almost $80k for months and everyone wanted to argue.

Ouch.

I was saying 85k... this totally makes sense though, when you look at the entire Camaro lineup.

As has been the case from the beginning (March), you either get it, or you don't.

I'll look forward to making new Z/28 HPDE pals at the track this year :-)

Congrats to the Z/28 team, again, for bringing such a cool car to fruition.
Good luck, Z....I'll be rooting for you...lol...

Maybe I'll see you out there one of these days with my modded SS...

(I'll be the guy doing the point-by...lol)

I would be willing to bet some of my local dealers if they get one, will be looking to get around 100K-110K for the Z/28. hell, my one local dealer wanted 1500-3000 over for the first SS models.

For the performance the car offers, the MSRP is fair IMO. I wouldnt spend that much on a Camaro but thats just me

A $75K car save you $4950 in sales taxes, but basing on the SS property taxes, let's just say a Z/28's taxes are $500 per year average (goes down as the car ages), you can own a Z/28 til 2024 for $50 more than paying the entire sales tax up front.

What would really suck is if you live where you have to pay full price taxes and property taxes on top of that.
Like where I live 9.25 % sales tax then property tax yearly. Nice.

Plus the dealers here will mark it up at least $15k like they did the ZL1s. Hello $110k. Ah the good old days. I believe sticker on my 97 Z28 was 28...

I'd like to think the engineers could have coaxed another 80 hp out of the LS3 without resorting to the LS7. I guess they have a few laying around. First they tried unloading them in the 427 vette and now the Camaro. It's cool for the wow factor but it still seems like there would have been a more affordable powertrain alternative.

Speaking of that Scott, now that we have a full range of Camaro's to choose from all the way from the base V6 for economy, etc, to the SS/RS's for midlevel comfort/performance through the 1LE to the ZL1 for an all around beast of a car, to the COPO for extreme straight-line performance to the new Z/28 for extreme road course performance, what else is there??

Has GM covered all the possible bases now or is there something else to maby look forward to?

What's next?
