One time when my GY's were about to be replaced I did the only reasonable thing. A series of smokey burn outs ... lol The clutch sank to the floor and didn't respond. I chalked it up to the Traction Control saving the car I was already into third gear and had moved maybe 50'.

I haven't had a problem before or since.

Also, I recommend talking to Chevrolet Customer Service about this issue.

Thanks. I wrote to William asking if he can give me a contact to send this to. It seems this is worth a look.

I'm gonna try hard to make it. If I can get the clutch sorted by then, I'll be there. The issue is that the problem doesn't show up anywhere but under the stresses of track use. I plan to flush it in the hopes that it's just air in the line. Maybe a hard run up in the hills would confirm that it's ok.

Mine is acting up now just getting on the frwy 1st, 2nd, 3rd then my pedal goes away and starts sticking, it also does it downshifting from like 5th to 3rd and then get on it, then the same thing. So yes, this only happens during ANY spirited driving.

How do i bump the old thread?

Just bite the bullet, replace your slave cylinder, and while at it, get an upgraded clutch (with slightly more capacity) and a bleeder, too. We spend thousands for stupid tires, this is just another one.

I'd also ditch the separate reservoir. We all make mistakes. Heck, just look at my build thread to see how much money I vaporized. Separate reservoir is a cheap mistake. Yes, I strongly believe it's a mistake.

Good perspective on biting the bullet. My issue is timing as I just got my Camaro back on the road after 5 months and I don't want to miss out on Buttonwillow next weekend. Especially looking forward to tracking with the SoCal guys at my favorite track.

I still have the stock common reservoir so I'm not sure if the separate reservoir has anything to do with it, at least in my case.

I was referring to the other member who has it. It accelerates this issue in my opinion. Sorry for the confusion : )

Tried a turkey baster. A flavor injector works better with way less mess, just be sure to get the black rubber grommet/plunger clean between uses:

I would highly recommend The MixMizer:

Question you mean separating the clutch and brake fluid reservoir ? Why would this be a bad thing? A lot of people seem to have done it. I was under te impression it keeps fluid temps down for both sustems and keeps fluids cleaner with less chance of contamination.

Assuming you did not read the whole thread, please see post #2:

The C5 and C6 Corvettes that come with that little clutch reservoir are notorious for sticky clutch since the little clutch reservoir is just not big enough to provide enough fresh fluid to cycle through. It seems GM understands this issue, and Gen5 Camaro (which was released 5 years later) comes with a huge brake fluid reservoir serving both the brakes and the clutch. I used to change the clutch reservoir fluid all the time when I owned Corvettes, but I don't even bother with the Camaros, and everything is running fine.

If you have contaminated the slave cylinder to the point that it does not seal as good as it normally does, this will get worse in time even if you keep the fluid clean or even get it flushed. I would hope not. I highly recommend you ditch that little cute clutch reservoir

In an ideal world, you would have big reservoirs for both the brakes and the clutch separately.
