I have the borla S axle back (so maybe it is less intense than a cat-back) but I dont mind the drone at all to be honest...

Yea it can be annoying but you either drop it into 5th and cruise or honestly as long as you are not pushing down hard on the gas, the drone at 1700-2000RPM is not all that bad....

Plus, it reminds me of how bad ass my car sounds now .

And don't listen to anyone, no matter what you do, no matter what brand you go with, there will be drone, it just depends on the individuals tolerance level...but even stock will have the slightest bit of drone if you listen carefully.

Yeah, I hate talking about it, too. If you're blessed with an exhaust system that sounds good all the time, you really should enjoy everytime you can get in the car. But there are many enthusiasts out here that wish it could be just a little better. That's the ones we're trying to help. And it's not easy.

Speaking of Corsa, have you ever seen the engineering they put into their products? No wonder it costs so much to have that sound. Here's a shot of one of their truck mufflers. The others are made similar. Lot of work in there. Not relying on a bunch of glass to quiet things down. That is reflective sound engineering.

We're just looking for something simple that could be done at the local muffler shop, or in your own garage, if you are able.

Trying to make the world sound better.

No crying at all here. It's too bad there's not an audio clip of what we're talking about. It's not a usual audio phenom, and it only occurs under certain conditions with certain set-ups. If it ain't you, forget about it.

We know there are several great choices out there. We just feel we have them all covered. We are not teh biggest name in Exhaust but that does not mean we can't do the best job out there. I worked at Borla when we did all teh manufaturing for SLP. Now look at it today. Granatelli was built 3" S197 systems both Borla and Bazzani and they both used teh GMS stuff as a template

it is just the way it is

Like I said before, the name says it all. "G" means speed.

My borla atak catback has no drone....my 4th gen had tons of drone with longtubes.off road y pipe and the cutout open....my borla has no drone..when it comes to exhausts I've learned that you def. Get what you pay for. In one of the videos floating around here David borla claims that some of the borla mufflers can outflow a straight piece of pipe..to me that's cool...that's proof that there's actually engineering and thought put into their products..not just bending some pipes and welding any old muffler or resonator in there

Wow, all of the people talking down to the OP have no clue. Obviously you either have not experienced the drone or you think it's normal with any system. I have the same issue with mine since I installed the CNT catback. The exhaust sounds great until I'm cruising at the 1800-2100 rpm range. Then, the drone is horrible and makes it very uncomfortable to drive. My catback is coming off very soon so I can enjoy the car again. Properly set up exhaust can give you an aggressive sound when you want it to and be fairly quiet when cruising.

Listen guys, this drone is no joke. Its sometimes called resonance and it is awful when it happens. I had a serious case of it in my vette. I loved its sound but at 1700-2000rpms cruising it was unbearable. Lest anyone think its just a case of someone being a wuss I'm all bout horsepower, loud exhaust and the sound of a well built tightly wound SBC at wot. I raced my C4 and my previous F bodies on the dragstrip, roadcourse and autox courses. I'm as much a horsepower junkie as anyone here but this drone/resonance is awful. I may wind up with a headers, H/C/I camaro with stock mufflers just to keep it away.
To the OP, I dont know what to offer other than in the corvette community corsa has a really good rep. Resonance is a known issue in vettes, esp the C4.
