That region is ideal for being central to the most population. One of the advantages of our Louisville, Ky location is that it places us within 600 miles of 60% of the US population and therefore we get packages to the customers quickly. The only problem is that there aren't really any facilities in the area that can support drag racing and autoX at the same time. There are good facilities for each but none that are combined.

That will be changing soon though

This would be the perfect place to hold C5 Fest III. It IS a central location. Most of the vendors/sponsers of this forum are within 600 mile radious and alot of them are even closer! The facility has everything the show needs.

We've been hearing about that complex since the first Fest took place. Hopefully, everything stays on schedule and it'll be ready for C5FV/VI.

A very good suggestion! I do believe Lucas Oil Raceway is on our short list...I'm just not going to say where on the list.

I hate to lock ourselves into an "announcement date", but the way things are moving along, I feel comfortable saying we'll know for sure by later in August....you're just not allowed to hold me to that...

Don't quote me on this, but I think we are going to try to hold this next fest during summer months...ie: no school. But again, that depends on

Somewhere in the North East

Preferably a place that has a drag strip and road course.

That would be the smart decision judging by the largest concentration of owners.

IF you want it to be fair and central to everyone then you give up the east coast bias... if Arizona is west coast Indianna is east coast...LOL
This track is central
http://www.hpt.com/
Its equal drivng distance for most of the country.. this is what I would suggest and keep the event along those lines.. The HOTROD power tour is always on the east coast..... Believe it or not Camaro's are owned west of the Mississippi...LOL
When you make someone drive 2200 miles so you yourself only drives 1400 miles WTF??... But you see my point.

Doesn't it also make sense to try the fest in multiple locations before we settle on a single spot. Doesn't it also make sense to move the fest to different markets so our sponsors have access to new markets each year instead of saturating them with the same people every year.

Just because we put it in the central US doesn't mean the entire US will show up... We are currently going to where the more dense Camaro populations are.

Please tell me you can see that SGMP was indeed an east coast event, and Firebird was indeed a west coast event....

We're aren't a boating forum....
