I have an LS3 and already did the fuse pull upon receipt if the vehicle. I've since added a CAI and tomorrow will be the Comp cat-back exhaust. A tune is in my future probably in the fall along with headers and possibly new plugs. However, in order to get the most out of my bolt-ons tomorrow, will a fuse pull help the computer to "re-learn" the increased airflow in and out of the car? Or is that something ONLY a tune can do?

Thanks!
Do the fuse pull after putting on the CAI. Better yet just take them out and leave them out while installing the CAI and then let it sit for maybe another hour. Then put them in and go take her for a drive.

So after doing my fuse pull about a week or so ago the car drove differently. (better). Now it feels sluggish again unless I get on it. Is this the AFM that causes this? I never put anything less than 93 in the gas tank. I just want the car to perform like I feel it should. Just feels hesitant sometimes. I can tell the car has power but it just doesnt feel efficient...

I seem to remember several years ago Ford was sued for the Mustang not meeting it's advertised HP. How is this any different if the Camaro gets into gimp mode and will not come out of it? I think we need to get an organized tech support call in or class actions thoughts going.

I would just like my car to perform as it should and to put out the power advertised. This is why I bought it besides the fact it is also a great looking car. It looks like we just have some computer or tuning issues here. GM needs to hold themselves accountable and fix this issue. We shouldn't have to dyno, video, measure, etc the numbers only to find deviations.

GM, please find a true solution to this. Tylenol held themselves accountable in the past and now that is an amazing story to be told.

I did have to laugh at the spark tables GM came up with -- I think they handed this job off to a college intern. No evidence of smoothing, large holes in the map, etc. Explains a lot about the ugliness of the stock curves!
This is a nice test. Good work and thank you for sharing.

But it's not just peak power that is being effected. I'd say the low range power is more important, and how it picks up through the band.

Would have been perfect if you'd have run a middle dyno with 93oct gas but before the fuse pull.

Have performed this fuse pull on my l99, now twice, with the same result. It works perfect, much smoother idle, allot more response, just over all better. Problem is it wont stick. The next days drives after the previous days fuse pull, reverts back to the rougher idle, sluggish feeling it always has.
Anyone else having this reset not lasting? Yes, it exclusively has 93 oct in it.

Try a different gas station. Take it in to your dealer. Make them keep fixing it everytime. Maybe if GM has to spend enough money fixing everyones car repeatedly they will fix it!

Did fill up at a different gas station, and not just a different Costco. Car runs so much better right after fuse pull, wish it would just stay that way. AMF, DOD, TM, and oh yea, my car holding on to the low octane table like grim death. No wonder so many people get tuned

I only fill up with QuikTrip gas (a "Top Tier" fuel retailer, BTW). I have two forced-induction vehicles that have never had a hiccup with 93 octane from the two local QuikTrips I fill up at. And my Camaro has yet to drop down to the low-octane table using the same fuel.

You might be surprised at how much octane levels can vary from retailer to retailer. I always stick with the same retailer, and will go out of my way to make sure I'm fueled up with those retailers that are known to deliver what they advertise.

Gas stations are the problem. Lessons to be learned. Always go to a name brand station. Always go to a busy station!!!! The problem is 93 octane that sits in a tank for say a month will not be 93 octane any more. It can drop below the required 90 in the fuel tables and drop you to the low octane map.

Octane settles out of the gas as the gas sits and things start to seperate. Chemistry 101. Busy stations get new gas more often and even as it is pumped into the tank it starts to mix the gas back up again so octane levels of the stuff in the sitting tank will remix some and rise.
