If the Z28 gets within $10k of the CTS-V, it had better flat out beat the sedan. |

but the Z28 and the cts-v are two different markets. they both are performance oriented but the V is luxury performance. 8k is a big jump. not everyone that can afford a 50k car can afford a 63+ car. you want to argue the price point it sure seems you're the one that is on the fence about what you really want. for some that are looking at this market care more about on thing over the other more. if you love luxury and want to perform good then the cts-v is for you. especially if you can afford the price difference. but if you just want performance and a good looking car, well the Z will be more to your tastes. (not really saying bad about the interior of the camaro, but the V has a BA interior). and you'll save 8k on the interior. |

Need to clarify something because I've seen 2 posts saying the Camaro and CTS are on the same chassis.
CTS is a Sigma Camaro is a variation of Zeta smiliar to the G8 and Commodore. CTS-V and Z28 therefore can't have the "same" suspension. |

magnetic ride control? I'm sure there can be a setup derived for a zeta platform. seeing how the ZR1 has a setup similar. totally different chassis. that's one crazy setup and it's well worth it.

You're right, we don't know anything about the Z28. But, we know a lot about the CTS-V. Such as, it's a world beater. It will be hard to best even for a Z28. I'm not on the fence at all. If both the Z28 and CTS-V are in the same ballpark price-wise, I'd go wth the CTS-V every time. And 8k isn't that much of a difference. Camaro pricing swings that much just with the SS version. You're right though about $55k being too high. I think $50k is too much. Mid forties is where this needs to be if they want it to sell. |

They'll likely sell a few hundred a month (maybe 5,000 a year) in the mid 50's.. They'll sell closer to a thousand a month if its in the mid 40's. So..I suspect it'll sell in the 50-55K range, just not in numbers we're used to seeing for the 5th gen Camaro. |

@Viper....I think you are exactly correct. It seems like people are forgetting where the Z/28 will be marketed to. It's going to directly compete with the GT500 which only produces 5000 or so units a year so I would expect the Z to be produced in similar numbers. it will be a niche car, a halo for the Camaro name.

I personally feel/think that the Z28 will have a small premium over the GT500. seeing how the gt500 with destination charge is just over 49k I'm expecting 50-51k for a base Z. I fully expect an optioned out Z (basing off corvette option levels 1lt, 2lt, 3lt) to be over 58k fully loaded and before TTL. the CTS-v starts out at 63,435 and goes up over 72k. . .so it's feasible to see a Z28 costing almost if not what the cts-v will cost. at that point it comes down to looks and what you get. but more looks. IF GM can pull a fast one and sneak the Z in under the 49k mark, with destination charge, more power to them and better off for me and other buyers. believe me I will rejoice at it being cheaper. |

For that price I will just pick up a lightly used 2SS, throw a Kenne Bell on it and call it a day..........and still have money left over for gas and tires!

The Z28 wont be priced under the GT500. Using that same logic the SS MUST be priced under the 5.0 Mustang..but it isnt. |

Do you really think they are going to produce 10-15k Z28's at roughly north of 50k? Hardly, in my book. My personal thought is that they will be produced in similar numbers to the V. I guess we will see in a year or so. |

There's no reason GM should price it over the GT500 if they want to 1) compete, and 2) steal Mustang buyers.
Beat the GT500 by $300 and all will be right with the world. |
