With all due respect I disagree,GM is the largest volume automaker (Toyota uncludes Diahatsu and Hino)and has sold more vehicles than anyone in history.Reduce the price of steel,labor and parts ,then the price will go down.Example,I had a lady come in and trade a 1994 Lumina Euro, the original window sticker was in the car.Her comment was "the prices of cars are high".She left buying a 2007 Impala within $1000 of what the Lumina was 13 years before.I'll be glad when GM files bancruptcy ,just to not hear "GM is in a bind,you need to sell something".Car prices are reasonable IMO ,could they be CHEAPER,yes,with cheaper being the point.New technology such as hybrids's and alternative energy sources will increase prices in the future.

The one car didn't make reserve (YAY!) and the other one sold for about $43K (Boo! Hiss!)

I figure if you pull out the ebay listing and service fees the actual amount the car is selling for is just about MSRP.

Dan lost a bunch of customers, gave his dealership a massively poor reputation on a wildly popular forum, and made a pittance more than he would have gotten by taking my order in October for basically the same car (except mine would have been a much better color choice).

The only downside is that this educational experience for Dan has cost a number of people their orders.

I agree with that, but he should have known that they werent going to sell when he put them up there. I know for a fact that there are many many people out there that don't even know a new Camaro exists, so I would say most people would be skeptical about bidding on one over the internet. I think he would have made a lot more money by waiting until he got the car in his showroom. He could have probably sold it for north of $50K just based on the sheer electricity of this car... that's why I am making sure I bring someone else with me when I go to take delivery of my car. I am pretty sure that if I am there by myself and they jack the price up 5 or 10 grand, I would probably pay it because I want this car so bad. Gotta have an unbiased person with me.

This one is for your Former customers you have belittled on here...Take a hike..And don't let the door hit you on the way out.. And I'm sure your former customer who has given you lots of money over the years and word of mouth support is also glad he finally knows the real Salisbury Chevrolet and their price gouging tactics and weasel like lies..

All I can say, is that I hope that the winning bidder holds him to the terms of the auction, ie delivery date, and tacks his rear end to the wall when he can't deliver on the date promised.

If you can't make money without telling lies...well, then you shouldn't be in business.

Exactly... I hope that he is VERY disappointed when his customer refuses to pay because they won't have their car on Wednesday... There are people on here that are in the first thousand produced, and they dont have a clue when they are getting their cars, let alone knowing they are getting them this week.

It's a simple auction. It's not price gouging, the customers set the market. Some of you need to back off, you're taking someone else's sound business practices personal because you are not the one's to benefit. He didn't order cars for customers, he sold them however he wanted. It is his right. All this attacking, negativity and mob mentality is uncalled for.

why would he be upset? he probably will just repost it, you even said earlier that he probably could have gotten $50 k once people figure out the camaro is out.
