Oh, I let it go. But, if I knew complaining enough would eventually get it back on the drivers side, every post of mine would be a complaint!!! Nah..I can live with it....but I don't want to have to.

I can't say anything else until I see the production model. But, of those 4, they are very minor details...but can make a very big difference for the die hard 5th Gen enthusiast.

Even going by that p-chop... I'd drive it. I don't care enough about the tiny details I've yet to see in person to really make a complaint. Come, what.. September? Then I'll make my assumptions. :P

I dont feel bad... I believed Camero from the start... but, then again, I'm a mechanical engineer by education and can see how things would fit together during the design study and pre-production phase

Sincerely I meant no offense. And I apologize if my earlier post reads with any malice in it.

No offense taken! It's wise to be skeptical -- way too much bad info. out there!

Hey -- come up and say hi ANYTIME! Remember -- it takes many many people to make this great car and you have a hand in it as well!!!!

Sorry I'm not at the meeting today -- stuck in Milwaukee!

Camero, congrats on the recognition. I bet it feels a lot better now that people will knock it off when you say something and they want to doubt you. Also, seeing as though it was pretty obvious the billet grill wouldn't be making it (and it'll be some sort of plastic), ...awe heck. I'm sure you couldn't say anyway....nevermind.
My vote goes for the BILLET GRILL!!!!

Glad to hear the production model will be made as close as possible (halo's) to the original (halo's) concept so that we won't (halo's) be able to tell the difference (halo's)!!!
My vote also goes for the HALOS!!!!! lol

Oh...and Camero...seeing as though you are taking part in this whole 5th Gen production, ..............I guess I get to complain to YOU about the change in gas cap location!!!!!!

(yeah, yeah....I'm over it) *cough* drivers side *cough*

*cough*also voting for driver's side gascap*cough*

haha Tag, I love how inconspicuous you were with the headlights. I'm diggin' it!

An open letter to GM

As a boy, I was obsessed with, and absolutely smitten by, the '69 Z/28, the '70 Boss 302, and the '70 AAR 'Cuda. You can imagine the youthful glee I felt when I saw the Concept Camaro introduced. I was so impressed by the concept cars faithfulness to the '69 Camaro. I was a bit doubtful you would retain the console gauges, or the cool dash layout. I was very glad to see you did. But while I was sweating the details, you went and changed the entire front end with those ugly projector headlights! What the hell were you thinking? That completely changes the character of the car. It no longer resembles the '69, or the concept for that matter. It looks like something from Japan! GM, I am begging you. Get this one right. You were so close. Don't screw it up now. I have been waiting to buy the new Camaro since the debut of the concept. I haven't wanted a car that badly since I was a teen. But hear me now. If you blow this design by building it with those ugly lights, I'll buy that damn Dodge Challenger instead. And I am GM guy! I own a CTS-V and a Sierra 3500! Please retain the concept camaro's headlight and grille design, or I'll have to by a Dodge. Al Bundy drives a Dodge, damnit, so please don't make me do that!

People say that what is old news to some people is NEW to others...but this goes beyond that. You have obviously done nothing to research about what you are talking about. I'm sorry Dragon/Tag/(whomever else this applies to) about my rant, because you talked about the old news is new news to someone, but this is rediculous. It won't take you long to see...on this site or others that the headlights represented on the pre-pro Camaro are not what are intended for production. FACT! Don't worry about this, and if you go making demands like that or ultimatums...you won't be received well. Again, I'm sorry for saying some of these things...on a lighter note...welcome to the site, look around, read some threads...bask in the knowledge (and opinions) that all of these fine men and women bring to the table.

OK, I think I have a solution. Maybe we could add a pop up box during the registration process that is kinda like the licensing agreements you get when installing software. Except this one just has a statement about the headlights not being production, being from Autozone just for test mule purposes, etc and that complaining about them or referencing them as the production units is grounds for post count reset at an undisclosed future time (say when they're just about to hit 1000 posts). And you have to click a check box saying "I have read and acknowledged the above statement." There, then everyone is up to speed.

On the upside, I'm thrilled to see all these new members so passionate about the headlights. Late to the game and losing interest my butt. The Camaro is gaining popularity daily.

Hahaha, yeah you didn't quite see my post

And (stovt001) I'm in complete agreement that it's great people are so enthusiastic about the headlights and the Camaro...I guess I just feel like if people can take the time to write posts...they can also take at least a small amount of time to look through the threads a bit...I know, I'm sorry, that's asking a lot

And in the statement, include a line that says "to continue you must select 'I disagree' " just to make sure that they read it.

sigh.

Nvdirtbiker, suffice it to say that those WILL NOT be the production lamps. In fact, there have been multiple hints dropped whenever this dead horse flinches, that the idea was to "Keep the production design true to the concept, with a little changes as possible." So, there's no need to worry anymore, is there? You can buy a Camaro now, like the rest of us.
