Did some poking around. This intake is ment for a truck. The L92 motor was offered in the truck line. Just happened to have the same heads as a LS3.

What all is needed for the swap, intake, fuel rails and some fittings?

A hood or a sawzall.

So questions. It seems I can have each part of the intake milled a little bit and can miill 3/4 inch off there, what else can be done to get a little more height shaved off the motor? Can engine mounts be swapped for a set that will drop it down at all? How much can actually be trimmed off the cowl and keep the wipers? how sturdy would the hood be with the supports trimmed?

Thanks
The newly released BMR Motor Mounts have the option of dropping the engine down an additional 1/4". Not sure if that extra 1/4" will help at all in this case, but I suppose it can't hurt!?!?!?

Looks like you might be able to keep the wiper on that one.

Thats what I'm thinking as well.

I talked with a machine shop today and they said they could get 0.75 inch of height off the intake. They are also going to mill out a notch in the back of the top plate and fill it in with Alum plate to get enough clearance for the cowl.

With the hood I'm hoping that removing a piece of the supports and the height off the intake will be enough.

Seems like it might be enough.

I wonder how well that top would flow into a single plane with the front 4 barrel opening blocked.

Thanks for the pics. Do you think an aftermarket cowl hood is a necessity?

As of right now we think we have found enough to remove that we will not have to cut the cowl and keep the stock hood with some trimming of the supports.

That's good news. I hope it doesn't affect performance too much.

I'll ask, remind you later on but once you get it all set up could you take some measurements out front so I can see if it is even viable with my GTZ hood. I have the distinct impression that that hood starts dropping down right about where the manifold starts going upward.

Sure will, as for power I don't really feel it will change much. I'm actually kinda happy it didn't fit right away. Gives me more time to order more parts. Ordered a dod delete kit yesterday, cam in the coming days when I decide on a nice VVT cam. Thinking GPI ss2.

So far it'seems looking like I'm going to do this..

Holley intake, 100-150 shot, cam, clean up heads and mill a little off to bump up compression, fabbing a new intake to go over the radiator (looks like the aftermarket one I have would work though), 3.91 gears, drag ridals.

Hopefully it will be a fun car.
