You have to give the Mustang its props. You have to point out why the advantages of the Camaro make it "better" Also make sure your professor doesnt drive a Mustang.

Thank you, All Or Nothing.
It's not rocket science here. The guy is writing a paper comparing MANY different things. He is not just comparing speed. If he was, about 99% of us would freely admit the Camaro is faster. |

Absolutely. And if you can't concede this then there is no point discussing this with you. Let's not forget that GM provided plenty of competition with the GTO (which was faster) yet the mustang still did very well. Why do you think that is?

But seriously guys. I have raced many Mustangs since getting my 2010 SS. I have raced GT's and GT500's of all years except for a 2010 GT500. When I was still stock I could keep up with a GT500 pretty well for the power difference. I've read how this car blows everything out of the water but it just isn't true. A buddy of mine beat a '08 GT500 by 1/2 a car length until they got to about 100mph's and then the Stang crept back right as they got through the 1/4 mile mark at the track. I have added a CAI, LT Headers, and got a good tune and I can pull them by 2 car lengths now. The Mustang is truly an inferior car stock for stock. Sure pro driver's can get into the 11's with the GT500 but the truth is that you and me (the average guys) just can't do that. It has been a proven mid 12 second to high 12 second car even with 500hp. The Camaro has been a proven low to mid 13 sec car depending on conditions as well. I have seen this first hand racing them, the difference is not very much at all. I do not hate Mustangs by any means, I really like the GT500s alot and respect them. But to keep bashing the Camaro is crazy, it is 100% the best car of the group for now at least. A 5.0 400hp GT will still not have much of a chance if it even makes it out. I am a true racer, I have raced all kinds of drivers in all kinds of cars, you win some and you lose some, but the difference between a GT500 and a Camaro SS are not that far off at all. It's time to admit this.

Im obviously trolling with more posts than most of you.......
And of course the Mustang outsold the GTO. Lets face it the 2004 GTO was hideous. The 2005-2006 GTO was very respectable but with a 35k price tag of course a GT Mustang for 20k something would outsell it. Cheaper product=better sales in most cases. Plus the GTO does not have the following of the Mustang. And many thought the GTO looked like a suped up Grand Am.

I guess some people just cannot understand the concept that the OP is not just comparing speed. He is comparing multiple factors.

Be sure to mention how Ford hasn't updated their suspension setup and still use the embarrassingly primitive Solid Rear Axel. |

With an SS Camaro that can keep up and in most cases beat a GT500..........what on earth makes people think that a new 5.0 GT will beat an SS. Ford won't make a GT comparable in performance to the GT500. I still can't figure out why so many people see the GT500 as the top dog.
