I'm coming to Charlotte on Friday and then long-hauling the HRPT. Maybe I can run with you folks? So far I don't know of anyone in the East TN group going.

There are 5 cars (at least) from ACE5 going! We have a thread here on the SE forum. Be fun to have a bigger group together!

The Poker Run Yesterday

The Poker Run yesterday was a lot of fun. I know the total cars on the run were over 150 they had that many at 9am and still people were signing up to ride. We left European Auto Garage at 11am. Those of you who don't know what a Poker Run is ...first it is done mostly for a charity. There were several check points along the route (5) where you pick a card from the deck. The person with the highest hand at the end wins a prize. All money is given to the charity. The entire c...ourse (RUN) was over 200 miles. The 4 main parts of the run were Foothills Parkway, Tail of The Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and Route 360 headed back. We were told when we left this is NOT A RACE. On the Skyway I was tailing a BMW when speeds reached 90 MPH I had to back off. On the Dragon I was behind a Honda S2000 and a Miata and had all I could do to keep up. I did have a challenge when I got behind a couple of Mini Coopers and they were only doing about 60 through the turns so I followed them. Had lunch at the Dragon General Store. I didn't know the Skyway was over 5600 ft above sea level. I will post some pictures later. If you've never been on one you need to do it.

Looks like I'll be a Saturday only. I'm off all day Friday so I can make the drive down pretty much anytime if we want to coordinate. This'll be my first experience and I'm really looking forward to it!

Hey BDBiker, sorry you guys couldn't make it. Everyone had one a great time, another awesome adventure at Bristol.

Running laps at Bristol during the day is a fantastic awesome experience. But running laps at night under the lights is SPECTACULAR ! Unfortunately no further details of the track laps can be released on the internet at this time, lol

I didn't take a lot of pictures but below is a link to a few. We did get some Gopro video from some several cars but it is going to take a few days to put it together. We will post as soon as we can.

Thanks buddy, I wanted to go but unfortunately the wife and I both had doctor appointments that prevented us from making the trip. Thanks for the update, look forward to seeing the videos.
