Yeah, I'm assuming but I'm making assumptions based on what GM has done. I don't think GM will make another LTx for a Z/28. They will probably just build an LT4 powered Z/28. Even if the Camaro loses 200 lbs across the board, that puts an LT4 powered Z around 3900 lbs, which would be way heavier than the GT350.
What are you thinking the base weight will be?

Well that would give the BIG win to the Z/28 then. 300 pounds more with GM's demonstrated support chassis tuning and brakes WITH 150 HP more will definitely destroy a 350R.

The GT350 weighs less than the GT PP and the GT350R weighs at least 130 lbs less than the GT350. That could put it in the low to mid 3600 lbs range. I can't really find a curb weight for the base GT PP but a fully loaded one weighs in around 3800 lbs.

The LT4 Z won't make 150 more HP. Best case, it will make 120 hp more but I doubt it. The 5.2 will make at least 100 hp/l and the LT4 will not make 650 hp in the Camaro.

Based on the C7 Corvette I'd rather believe Chevy has a great product about to be revealed. Don't be a http://www.nbc.com/saturday-night-li...-downer/n11825

No way the GT350R will be anything less than 3,700 pounds, IMHO...

I'm not trying to be negative, just realistic. I could be wrong and I hope I am. Just for there to be a 6th gen Z/28 with a new LTx, GM would have to develop a one off engine for it or it would share it with an as of yet not existing C7 model. GM has only once built a one off Camaro engine, ever, and the Camaro and Corvette haven't shared a higher powered engine since the gen 1 small block and big blocks.

I never said it won't be a great car. I'm sure I will be very tempted to buy one. If GM wants me to spend another $45k+, then they need to deliver a car that I want more than I wanted my 1LE.

They are listing the "R" weight at 130 lbs. less than the GT350. The std. 350 does have A/C as std. Equipment. It appears most of the weight savings is in the rear seat delete, CF reinforced front rad. support and 13 lbs. each for the CF wheels.

From a source close to the project HP will be between 525-550.

It will be a better car. My concern is the car seems to lack the curves of the 5Gen and 69'.

I'm not expecting the hear about Zxx model specifics on Saturday. I fear we will be speculating on these matters for some time to come. GM got brained by Ford with the ZL1 and I expect them to hold Z model plans and specs for some time. This would also help them sell remaining 5th Gen Z/28's and ZL1's.

If you overexpose the latest teaser images....they left a lot of data in the shadows...check out the character lines on the sides of the lower grille...
