I would agree, but they better do some tweaking to the LSA is they want to have bragging rights in the power output though and they better find a way to put the car on a diet. The 2011 GT500, let alone a 2012, is going to shed about 150-200lbs over the current 2010 model and without a power steering pump, parasitic drag is going to be reduced, as well. That alone could likely allow the current 5.4 engine achieve around 10-15hp at the crank over the 540hp it makes now.

I still think the LSA would have better torque, however, so even if they ended up with the same 556hp, the additional torque of the LSA would probaby be offset by the lighter weight of the GT500. Shed a couple o hundred pounds of the Camaro though.....

If the Camaro weighed at what the Mustangs did... That would be some car to behold lol.

Yes it would. I'm not sure how you can put the LSA in the car, however, and expect it to lose weight. GM would have to take action elsewhere on the car to shed the pounds.

+2 Assuming Z28 gets LSA, I don't really see that happening; at least with any significance. The the GT500 is, indeed, the target, I believe it's safe to say GM isn't only going to throw the engine in there and call it good; they'll go through the tranny, rear end, and at least retune the struts, springs, and sway bars. I think they might do enough lightening to offset at least a little of the added weight of the stuff I listed; not much more if they want to keep my assumed price point. Don't get me wrong. I want to see shocks and like brakes from CTS-V and ZR1, but I'm not so sure and that's a lot to ask, IMVHO.

I'd LOVE to be wrong though!!!

No one refers to a Camaro as an Ss or Z28. If you go up and talk to a random person, try telling them you drive a Z71, Z24. you'll get the deer in headlights look. People refer to a camaro as a camaro ss or camaro z28. I've NEVER heard of anyone just say I have a z28...
That's not true. People say Z28.

By the way, Silverado and Cavalier?

Yes because I live in CA and emissions are strict. With a Z28 rumored to be supercharged I can have a 500HP Camaro and not have to worry these stupid fix it tickets.

Shed pounds? How rude! You calling the Camaro fat?! I'm sure our dear Camaro has "feelings" just like your silly little Mustang.
