My avatar? That's actually the Buick Riviera concept. Susan Docherty requested it for production right before she moved over to VP of NA Sales. Nothing's been confirmed yet, but there's a chance it'll be approved.

As for the LaCrosse's engines, the 3.0L SIDI V6 is a problem engine. Reason being it reaches its maximum torque output at a high RPM, forcing the engine to work harder for the car to accelerate. Because of this, fuel economy in the 3.0L is dismal at best. Combine that with a rather heavy curb weight, and the benefits of the 3.0L in the LaCrosse quickly diminish. Holden was able to engineer a fix for the 3.0L for the Commodore, in fact, one of our editors at GMI was able to hit 34 MPG in a 3.0L SIDI-equipped Commodore, but the EPA will not allow GM to use that fix in the US.

The engine's good for small, light cars like the Malibu...but start sticking it in bigger, heavier cars like the LaCrosse, Equinox, Terrain, and SRX, and performance and fuel economy suffers.

I kid.. and on a downside, I had to put gas in my car saturday to go to Columbus, sunday for Hocking, monday for work and to go to Lexington and wednesday because I took it to work tuesday and wednesday!! YUCK but it is SO worth it!! Total miles driven since Saturday morning... 1300. I am only getting average on the DIC of 18.8 MPG.

My average mpg has been around 19. I got my best mpg of 24 when traveling to Oshawa and staying near the speed limits.

I tried to do this once, when I had the RX~8. It lasted about 10 tanks then I gave up...

Well at least you got your best MPG off the gas that was almost $4 a gallon! Was that USD?

It isn't too hard to write the odometer mileage on the receipt. Then you can optionally gather your receipts and use the info to track your mileage.

Actually the tank of gas prior to Esso's $4 got me the 24 mpg.

The best I got was during my MB trip. I reset the MPG monitor before I started and read it after I got back home and it said 25.6. Of course some mountains and crusing for chicks in MB (not for me for the 2 16yo's I was driving around)might have reduced that a bit.

oh and did I mention I beat a shelby mustang on US501? No I don't think it was a GT500 it just had shelby on the left of the trunk lid like a dealer stamp

Hey guys - RS_Man said he saw a IBM 1SS out today - anybody know who that is?

He said it was an 'old guy' driving, so since RS_Man is only 23 it could be anybody 24 and up...

If we have a caravan of Camaros driving to Camaro5 Fest, I wonder if it would be good to rent some two-way radios. A quick search finds them for $6/day.

EM,

Thanks for recommending the Amber Rose restaurant.

I took at look at their menu and I want to try one of everything.

http://www.theamberrose.com/ARoseDinMenu.pdf

Maybe we should have a Camaro5 dinner there.

I'm going to get these Camaro5 cards printed up as business cards at my local printers. At our next meet, I'll give everyone some so they can use them when they find new Camaros.

Yum- Amber Rose! A dinner there would be great - maybe during Christmas break so Fen could join us?

Heinz -that would be awesome for you to do that for those of us who have printers with somewhat less than stellar capabilities :-)

Hehe that would come in handy if someone sees Johnny Law hanging out by the side of the road, might help avoid some close calls. I know by the time I hit the phone button and tell it who to call, they'd already have nailed one of us!

:party0038: Ohhhh yeah, I'm with you! I had a hard time picking out what to eat when I went. Only there's no place to park where we can see our cars. At least it's a lot behind the building!

Um... it didn't occur to me to mention last week when we were all thinking someone else would have one, but I have a color laser printer. I can print some, if you like. Heck, I even have business card stock, I think. Don't know why I haven't printed any yet. Though it's still not what you'd get from a commercial printer, it's pretty good.

Good idea - Fen, you're on quarters, so it's probably early, yes? Never too soon to get together with other people whose eyes don't glaze over when I go on and on about my car LOL.
