Yup- got Mer out for a little bit. Think I'll take him to work today, too, if only to park him outside the window and stare at him now and again! Guess it's time to stop putting off ordering that car cover for his winter nap, however :-(

Either dealers are lying BUT in the greater Cincinnati area there are a lot of Camaros on the ground for sale, Columbia says they have 18, Castrucci has 6, and so on....should make the purchase event a little easier to get a deal ??

It is.

If enough people want to do it, we should get together some time and install it. I wonder how much time/effort it would take.

I am guessing not much effort, just have to be very careful taking everything apart as to not break it. Someone should do it first then offer to help the group or we could do a group learing session but I am guessing it is more than one day to do it if you have to learn. If one person does it and knows all the parts and procedure, I am betting we could whip them out pretty fast. I may talk to the OP of that thread and work on mine over the winter since my car sits anyhow....

I PMed him for information. Who is with me on this>>>

I was telling my husband about Sunday's dinner after the cruise: "I was with other people who like to sit by a window where they can see their car!" He just rolled his eyes, doesn't understand. But you guys do.

Haha, I park outside my project manager's window so I can do this every time I step out of my cube LOL.

It seems there is at least three ways to do the ABL
- GM parts for doors used in dash
- Light tape
- EL wire

It appears the EL wire is least expensive and requires less drilling/modifications to the dash.

It appears most of the time needed for this mod is for sanding the paint off the trim pieces.

I was thinking of starting with the doors extending the light to the dash. If all goes well with the doors, then trying the EL wire in the dash. I'm undecided about extending ABL on the lower part of the door trim.

I kinda like the wrap around door panel lights.... looks more spaceship like.

Never been so nervous. Then I glued light tape all the way around the outer trim piece. Pulled wire all the way into the dash from the door(hardest part btw). Then used a transformer and tr7 the same way I did the dash. But I will have a full write up with good pics soon. Thanks for the compliments Eric
I LOVE the wrap around! I am game, as soon as Eric gets the walk through posted I will look into doing it on my car. I won't practice on your car bart! It will be a good winter project.

I'm not sure about the lights on the underside of the door panel, either. Looks cool, would be different than stock, but if it's something with a higher potential for screwups....

Fen, I have to admit that the pic of the lacrosse you have is pretty sharp. My wife and I are seeing those commercials and we're not fast forwarding through them... first Buick I ever though about in a good way. Now I'll just have to see if I can fit in it with the panoramic roof. Funny though that both the 3.0L DI and the 3.6L DI engine get the same estimated fuel econ and both are lower than my camaro.
