I've been saying GM is only going to build the LT1 and LT4. People tell me I'm wrong, and I hope I am, but there is nothing to prove GM is building something else. The GS was the best chance we had at a new LTx and it didn't get one.

I think there's fair chance of "something else". I've never known them to stop short so quickly.

...I just think context clues, emissions laws, and some statements by company people seem to indicate there will be no LS7 replacement. (ie N/A big displacement)...which is truly a loss.

I agree that there won't be a 7.0 LTx. The only engine that makes sense is an LT6, and the GS was the best chance of that happening. GM doesn't upgrade it's engines. They keep them at the same power output until they are replaced. To get more power, they add displacement or forced induction, except this time, GM skipped all the added displacement and already put on the blower.

The front fenders don't appear to be from the Z06.

What are the actual differences between the GS and the Z06? Is it truly an NA Z06?

LT1 vs LT4 would be the main difference. Z07 package can be added to GS as well.

Vette version of the 1LE.

Wouldn't the Vette version of the 1LE be the Z51?

Would the base GS be any faster than the Z51? It's likely to be heavier and have more drag from the aero. Plus, it looks like the lateral grip is pretty similar between the two. It seems like you would have to jump to the GS Z07 to get any real benefit.

GM stated that the GS(I assume GS/Z07) was .6 seconds behind the C6 ZR1 at Milford. Pretty impressive!

Well the GS/Z07 should be very fast with the Cup 2s, CCBs and aero upgrades. I'm talking about the base GS.
