Yo Oldtimer,

Your name better be B.L. or they have sold it to someone else!
I just had to see the color in person and was disapointed they had it in the showroom under artificial lighting.
CGM is what I ordered because it looked amazing on the Corvette under the bright sun.

But at least your car is here, my dealer still claims to know nothing of status/event on mine besides it was at 3000 a month ago according a phone call, no VIN either...).

Anyway, it had a printout behind the screen stating the car was sold to B*** L*****.

Get your car out of there!
Everybody is touching it and they are letting people sit in it!
They offered me the opportunity too but I declined as it was a SOLD car.

The rims are indeed Polished Aluminum, not that the Sales guys would know, first they stated they were standard wheels, then Chrome, then Polished Chrome, then Painted Aluminum and only after finally looking at the sticker they proclaimed Polished Aluminum. Ding ding ding ding, we have a winner!

I would give anything to see you walk in there, signed agreement in one hand, bank check for MSRP in the other, followed by the local TV News crew. ANYTHING.

The car is mine, I cannot pick it up until tomorrow. As of last night it was not mine so I did not come prepared to pick it up today. My schedule wont allow me to do it this afternoon and I have made an appointment with the person in charge of delivering it to me tomorrow. No worries, it is not going anywhere.

As for them letting people touch it, no biggie. As for sitting in it, well, I asked them to lock it but leave it on the floor. Sounds like they did not honor that request. Not sure how much that really hurts anything. I would want to sit in it. What can I do anyway. This whole thing has taken all the excitement out of it for me. I will just pick it up tomorrow and be done with it. Will post pic's as soon as I can.

Dinky Toy, thanks for the courtesy. The yellow one was unlocked yesterday and I just looked in and did not sit in it either. Takes a real car fanatic to have that kind of respect and restraint!!

No more talk about news media, etc..... They are selling me the car at the agreed to price. I feel I handled it the best way possible.

I give you credit you handled it 1000% better than I would have once you take her home you will enjoy it. I would be so kind and after I am handed the keys I would walk up to the manager and tell him to take the 8k over MSRP and shove it up his A$$ and give the rest of them and pulling out of the dealership

I accept their apology, I have told them so and I am very appreciative of them contacting me right away and doing the right thing!

I will get my CGM 2SS/RS with 20" polished wheels for MSRP as promised.

Thanks for the support from all of you.
I dig happy endings.

I stopped by that dealership about 11 am this morning and spoke to one of the sales managers who offered to help me. As I was casually snapping pics of the car, I asked how much he would sell it for. He said $8K over sticker and that he had two interested buyers. I chuckled and told him that his dealer was getting flamed on this site. He acted concerned, said he didn't know about it. Guess he might have found out....

Anyways, here are the pics I snapped. And yes, I saw at least three customers sit in your car while I was there.

The ebay listing is still up. Somebody get on the phone with OldTimer and as soon as he signs the papers for the car, click the "Buy it now" button and buy it. When you go to get the car and they sold it, I wonder if you could sue. LOL That would be funny.

Yes you could sue and you would win. They have a contractual obligation to provide you with the services they are offering for sale. This is part of the Ebay Terms and Conditions. If they violate these terms then their account can be suspended and they can be banned from selling on Ebay. You would also have a pretty good court case as they obviously could not provide the VIN number car that is being offered. If someone did click buy-it-now and drive to the dealership they would technically have to sell it to that person or face a lawsuit. They better pray no one buy's it before they remove the auction or things will go very bad for them.....

Did he pick up this car or not?? Who would pay $8,000 over sticker?? That is CRAZY... What dealer would even do that and feel good about it. How can you sleep at night?? It's all about repeat and referral buisness isn't it or did I miss something when I started doing this 15yrs ago...
