Hello all, just thought I'd say hello here, I've already said hi on the Kansas City forum and then when I was looking around realized there was one for KS too

Quick story, I got my Camaro July of 2010, about 1 week after I got back from my last trip from Afghanistan. I was stationed at Fort-Lewis, and I went to the Puyallup Cheverolet after I dropped off a friend at his house one friday afternoon. I went in and told them I wanted a Silver V6 Camaro, but they didn't have any :( So I was about to leave when they said "Hold up, let us make some calls." About an hour later they found one, but it had the RS package installed along with a few other extra's which was gonna raise the price above what I wanted to spend (cause I was just gonna pay cash). I thought about it for oh about 3 seconds > and called up my bank, and they pre-approved me for 35k at 3.8% for 5 years. So I told them I'll take it. They had to have it brought over on a truck over night from some place 600 miles away.

I came back the next day, and got there just as the truck arrived with my future car. and since I had quite a bit of extra money available, I asked how much it would be to get the ground effects and ralley stripes put on, and they told me, and I told them I wanted that, so I got to take the car home and drive it for a few days, then brought it back so they could install the stripes and the ground FX kit. I loved it

About 3 months ago, I happened to go into the Parts / Service department area while I was having services on my car done, and saw the new stuff that had come out for the camro in the 2012 magazine they had at the counter, and I ordered the new High Wing Spoiler, and the Heritage stripes, and about 3 weeks later I had those installed, however, I had to buy a new trunk lid, so the stripes on my trunk are missing now (still trying to find a place to get those replaced.)

I just moved to the KC area begining of August, and will be living in Lawrence for at least the next 4 years (since I just started college 2 weeks ago). I've seen a few other Camaro's driving round, but haven't had a chance to meet anyone from this site yet. Hopefully, I'll get to do that sometime soon.

At this point, I'm looking at what I can do next for my car. I'm not trying to do anything performance wise, just going for "eye candy" stuff, and I'm thinking going with a low profile decepticon look, by adding a few decepticon symbols on the outside, and getting some black rims, and maybe blacking out all the chrome letters and bowties. Or, and this one is gonna be interesting, I'm gonna go with a Tron look.

The Tron scenario is going to involve a lot of work. I talked to the company who did all the lighting for the Tron: Legacy movie (Lighttape), and they got me in touch with a company called Illuma-FX. Working out the details on design and cost atm, but if this isn't going to cost too much, and assuming it's legal in Kansas (I'm still trying to find out exactly what is and isn't legal as far as extra lighting goes on cars in Kansas).

Assuming its legal, and assuming I can afford it, I'll also do the LED lights on the wheels (saw that posted somewhere on these forums) as well as the under-carrage lights. and eventually, do some Lighting on the inside as well with either Lighttape, or something else I saw while I was browsing the web for lighting systems.

But for now, this is what my car looks like atm.





Oh and I've already taken the front license plate thing off (hate washington) and I gotta get the 4 holes fixed at some point, and I got custom plates on order coming in the next week or so

Any "Camaro" friendly Meets, Car Shows or Cruises coming up ?

I ask because My son and I had been wanting to go to a "Car Show" to show the Camaro and finally last weekend we made time and went to TWO !!!

1st one was too small with only about 10 cars and 15 motorcycles at Retro Bowl in Liberty. I liked it because it was in the evening and I got to show my engine lighting.

2nd one was too big with about three hundred cars (only 2 Camaro's but one was Vendor). Downtown Shawnee, MO.
Actually heard more BAD comments than good ones... other car owners appeared bothered that a NEW car be allowed at their car show.
"Can't believe they allowed that THING in here. New Camaro's got to be the ugliest car on the road"

Anyways... Just looking for a friendly atmosphere my son and I can hang out with the Camaro.

We have a couple good ones coming up here in Wichita the next couple weeks if you are up for a road trip. They aren't huge (100-200 cars), but we are attending as a club and they are for good causes. There will be several of us attending each one.
