Attention Upstate C5 Camaro friends!
The Buffalo Camaro guys are going to meet Sunday the 17th of November, 1:30pm @ Anchor Bar in the city...address of the restaurant is: 1047 Main St Buffalo, NY 14209 You're all invited, if you'd like to make the drive, we'd love to see you and say hello! Bring your car if you have it out...or just bring yourself if it's already stored for the winter. Hope to see you there! |

couple of questions for you guys since the Trans Am never really got put away for winter (we had the warmest winter that year). My Camaro has 669 miles on it, do you guys think I should change out the oil on it or should it be ok till spring? Also wanting to know what battery tender you guys use and do you disconnect the batter from the car or does that not need to be done for the battery tender?
Another question about exhaust, there are a lot of nice systems out there and you tube vides never do them justice...I am thinking I want to go with the Stainless Works retro chambered cat back. Any thoughts? I know the MRT V2 sounds nice but they are pricey for an axle back when can get cat back for not that much more. HELP! |

I haven't put a tender on any of my camaros yet. Also with the few miles that you have there is no need to change oil till the spring.![]()

The current spec looks a little low to do much more than maintain, but as long as it has an automatic float mode it should be ok.

Full charger output is only 0.75 amps. It will just take longer if for some reason the battery was to lose charge, but what the hell, we have all winter, lol. As long as you're only maintaining a charge it will be fine. The one I have is 3.0 amps so can be used to charge a deeply discharged battery, if you don't have a regular charger. Like if your mower is dead come spring.

i have a regular charger for a dead battery so then this should be fine for maintaining the Camaro battery. Thanks for the info!

The 2 winters I have had my car, I haven't done anything as far as the battery goes and knock on wood, fires right up come spring.
As far as the charger you are looking at, sounds like it is a good choice. |

Anyone think I need to change the oil with only 669 miles on the car before letting it sit all winter?

I usually change my oil after winter and plan on doing that again come spring. I store my car at my dad's which is about 3 and a half hours away and after taking it out of storage and driving back I haven't had any issues with the oil on the trip before being able to change it when I get back. |

I wouldn't worry about the oil only having 669 miles on it.
