It really makes too much sense to build a G8-esque car in Oshawa.

See, the other day i was inquiring about G8's at a local dealer, and why Canada doesn't get a Stryker Blue G8 GT. He couldn't answer that, but figured once GM moved production of the G8 to Canada, we would get Stryker Blue G8 GT's!!

I'm hoping this was a little more then speculation as well!

Just because the temperature never gets below 60 degrees year round where they live, they think SUVs and trucks are "wasteful".

Up here in the Northeast, there is a real need for SUVs, and I mean a real SUV with ground clearance and 4WD, not some wimpy crossover with front wheel drive and AWD part time to the rear wheels.

The need exists for these vehicles and the Trailblazer/Envoy should be retained in some form. Sure, you can get a pickup with similar capability but you can't fit a family in a pickup, and it's not the same.
I don't know what I'm going to drive in the winter in the coming years.

I live in full size truck country and everytime Pelosi opens her mouth about banning the V8, I laugh my ass off.

Don't care how well GMC sells. Those sales will go over to Chevy if GMC ceased to exist. It's not like someone would say "Well since I can't get my Sierra, I'll have to get a Tundra" or something. They'll just pick up a Silverado.

Some guy on this site tried to tell me that I would probably buy something else before I bought a Tahoe or 'Bub to replace my Yukon if GMC went bye-bye.

THE RESALE VALUE of THE Chevy has always been higher ( just like Impala over Bonneville)
so that will never be the case.

The issue is that most people don't want to drive and most importantly buy something they see on the road everyday 50 times a day which is how we got to this many different brands that are basically the same thing. When things pick back be right back at square one with one car being called 4 different things in hopes to improve sells.

Some people yes, but I think most couldn't care less. If you don't believe me, just take a look around on your way home. I'd give it 10 minutes before you see a gold Toyota Camry.

Just like the "import" GTO, only 1/2 of the G8's shipped have been sold.

G8 is too small for Impala but would make a great Chevelle.
