I was told that the trucking companies are under a union and can kinda do what they want not what the dealers want and GM is looking to basically go to independents trucking? This happened about 10-15 years ago and the Manufactures got rid of some trucking co. Where sales are slow everywhere and the economy is in the toliet the trucks will wait and fill a trailer whether it's going to one dealer or multiple dealers, for those of us waiting or have waited it really sucks. I was starting to loose sleep. mine was a few days late and sat in the yard for a week, it is here and having fun with it. Hope you all get yours real soon and for Okie at least find out where it is?

Finally in Nashville, last stop for the train. Now I need someone to unload it and a truck to deliver it to the dealer, about 15 mins away, in the next few days. Here's hoping!! I think a root canal would be less painful.

Gemini & y2k10camaross - I truly hope you get yours soon and that it doesn't sit there for over a week.

Chevybum - I'm certain it's a union and I understand they won't haul unless full. But, I was told there is also a minimum time. They will deliver when the truck is full ... But, not later than seven business days from the time the car "arrives" at the rail yard.... not when your rail car goes empty. But, this is the same dealer that has told me my car would be here "tomorrow" on so many different occassions.

Anyway, I know there were several folks on here who had their car stuck at the rail yard waiting on a truck. I was mostly just letting those folks know it was happening to me too and it is indeed very frustrating.

After sleeping on it, I think if I ever order again, I will get some stats on how many cars a dealer sells a week!

I've had three root canals this year. They are far less painful!

Sadly, I think the root canals were brought on by the stress of waiting.

okie2....one of the problems is being able to track it step by step as we have. When I ordered my 2000 SS, I just placed the order and when it came in he called me. In some ways it was much easier not knowing but not as much fun and certainly not as frustrating. As for me, the wait has been what seems like forever. I first ordered May 28th but as it turned out it was with a very unethical dealer. GM is working that but I had to reorder with another dealer on Aug 7th. At least we are all close to the end and hopefully it will be very soon for you and gemini and myself. I've got my fingers crossed for both you and gemini and anyone else who is enduring the wait. Good Luck!!

No doubt the ability to track has created part of the problem. I know too, it has caught my dealer off guard. He was quite shocked that I had my VIN number before he called, then I knew which train, and the ETA of the rail car, then I knew it was in OKC.

You're right...I'm sure most dealers are amazed on the information we have. Most of this information is only known by the Inventory Manager and a lot of the salesmen dont have a clue.

It was funny when the salesman would call and say, "You probably already know this, but, ..." then he'd give me some update. And yep, I already knew.

GM has reignited the muscle car passion for thousands of people - possibly hundreds of thousands. And the tracking has been fun and exciting. I've actually enjoyed sharing the wait for a VIN from The Viz, sharing the excitment of getting that VIN, and sharing the trip home with everyone on here. The frustration for me only came when it stopped moving!!!!

Conrats gone to the bowtie side, can't wait to see pics.

For everybody waiting, I hope this weekend goes quick and the cars are ready for you the first part of next week. Sorry to hear that you are still waiting on your cars.

I was simply sharing my frustration with fellow 9/28ers that DON'T have their car yet. Those of us who are still waiting and those that understand and are currently experiencing the frustration of waiting.

I'm sure I will enjoy the heck out of this car. I'm sure I will be impressed with GM's design and engineering. I so want GM to succeed, but if they have a role in this transporation process, then I want them to work on that too. Building
great cars is only part of being a successful company.
sigh...you should read up on the shipping process...gm doesn't run the railways....

That's why I used the word "if" it's GM's fault.

Miracles do happen

Well, to stop the argument with Mike...

I got the call! I finally get to pick her up.

Thanks to all of you, and you too Mike, for trying to keep all of this in perspective. Especially this last 10 days!
