Maybe some day, a ZL1 will be sitting in my driveway next to my abm... and I will have it painted abm to be the only ZL1 with ABM paint!!!! When I read these write ups its so full of suspense for me and I cant seem to read them slowly so I have to re-read them to get all the details! Chevy has outdone themselves once again and we camaro lovers can never say thank you enough for bringing to life such an awesome car!

That was the most amazing article I have read yet! Chevy should post a link on their home page and give you a bonus. I have been thinking about buying a ZL-1, now I know I am. Thank you very much for the in depth detailed ride along, I felt like I was there with you.

I have to admit that I am obsessed with the ZL1. I read everything that I can get my hands on. This ZL1 review is the best written yet! I am really impressed with the quality and passion.

I have been waiting since the concept Camaro appeared to buy one. I have sold my first gen ('69 Camaro) and my motorcycle I. Order to make room for my 5th gen Camaro. I am more committed than ever to buy one.

My only challenge now is what color to get! My 1st gen was rally yellow. I decide on IOM and then I change to Ashen Gray. so hard to choose!!!

Best article to date!! Most "mainstream" publications have been so focused on track performance (which is awesome) but it was great to hear about the daily driving exerperience as well.

I so so glad the new ZL1 is doing great, I am looking forward to some late night reading on the forum when the all get delivered and eventually the wave of mods that will become available soon after it release.

"ZL1-specific HUD readout is really cool, by the way..."

Can someone post a picture of this? I totally forgot about the HUD. I drive a stupid Honda out here in Japan....

uugghh, 15 months till I get back...
Check out this video, I think it shows it but as a small glimpse. It starts on the :29 second mark, one of the options shows mph and Gs, not sure if that is standard on the V6s and the SSs

In my personal opinion, for the ZL1 HUD should have the ZL1 logo as the opener, but I understand how that'd be a huge amount of manufacturing to replace and what not, just think it'd be cool

Thanks!! I knew I wanted to buy a 5th gen Camaro since that 2006 Autoshow, too. It's been a LOOOONG wait...but it was so worth it. Just a few more weeks, now!

That's what shocks me most about this car. When they told me they made no compromises - they weren't kidding...the street drive ability is almost as impressive as its composure and talents on the track. I guessed before, but now I understand exactly why they wanted us to take an extended drive around the country roads.

My mother's an old-school kinda lady...she can't quite grasp why anyone would want to buy a car with this much power and performance "when you can't use it on the road!"

Well - after coming back from VIR - I finally told her: It's just as much a thrill to drive it relatively calm on the roads as it is to drive full-out on a track. There was not a single minute where I was disappointed in the car. It lacks...nothing!

Awesome!

Yep - the LT and SS HUDs feature three screens...the ZL1 adds a third with the G'meter and shift lights. The shift lights won't display, however, if the car doesn't think you're racing. It's really nifty in that respect.

I suppose it would be nice...but I've got to say - there was never a moment when I forgot I was driving a ZL1.

Great write-up and photos. Totally felt like I was there. I even became a Camaro Fan Boy for a moment forgetting my Boss sitting in winter storage. Sounds like a brilliant car. I hope you all start getting your cars soon. See you at the track!

Now THAT'S how I know I did a good job.

Thanks for the compliments, Fenderaddict!

Holy Smokes!!!

I've had my 2010 2SS for exactly 2 years now and not a day has gone by that I haven't smiled after driving it to/from work, store, airport, kids school, etc. But...after reading this, it's time for an upgrade. I've been thinking about moving to a 2012 2SS but not anymore - I am going to save a few extra bucks and get a ZL1. It will "just" be my daily driver but it's articles like this that make is seem totally worth it. Gonna order Yellow again with the black wheels and with the black ground effects, it is going to look cool. Even have a few extra autobot logos from my 2010 so part of my old car will travel with me on the new one. Anyway, thanks for the great write-up, way better than anything I have seen in the magazines (and they were pretty darn good). Thanks to team Chevy for a great car. I love my current Camaro so much that I sold my Ford pickup (foul weather transportation) and got a Silverado as well.

Optimus

PS, I too hope there will be bulbs available for the daytime running lights that match the color of the head lamps. That's the only thing I can thing that i would change at this time.

LOL! That is too funny, my father owns an F150, I was telling him this morning actually that we should go see if we can get a deal on a Silverado
