Yep, just as ugly on the Camaro as they are on any other car that has them. I absolutely hate those things, but I guess you have to make do with what you are given.

We're NOT talking about a pickup or a bus here... this is a very low car. If you hit a kid on a "big wheel" as some keep suggesting do you know what will happen? You're going to push them out of the way.

You have just as much an opportunity to have a kid crawl UNDER the car before you even get in, and get eaten up by the driveshaft or crushed by the wheels when you move in EITHER direction (that darn FLOOR is a HUGE blindspot).

Where's the manufactured outrage over lack of under-body radar child detection systems?
TOUCHE`...good point as well...I get what you are saying and respect your opinion....

You think that is being said just for liability reasons?

That is a good catch.... I wonder how sensitive these things are? Do they only detect large non moving objects? Can they detect small moving objects? Hmmmm gonna have to do some research.

Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist
System that uses ultrasonic sensors located in the rear bumper to detect certain stationary objects up to 8 feet behind the vehicle while traveling in reverse at low speed.

If you guys think that's strange, check out these warnings on the top of my paper shredder...

Apparently I am not supposed to put certain things in in the shredder... such as hair, neckties, babies, hands, etc...

So I think GM is just covering themselves in case of... odd incidents...?

(sorry for the blurry cell phone pic)

I see what your saying but what is this system actually designed for? Is it to detect small moving objects.... Or big stationary objects such as cars. Its called park assist. Im just curious if it will pick up small objects?

I'm just glad I don't have kids to back over while riding their Big Wheels!!!!

However, I am really glad I have those pretty F@#King back up sensors added to my order w/o my Mutha F@#king consent.

Mine picks up curbs sometimes when I'm backing into a parking space... but once you get to a certain point, it stops beeping (like it can't see it anymore). It seems to be best with taller objects, like cars, walls, etc.
