Still in the body shop... they're having some issues with the Seibon fenders. Maybe we'll see some progress in a couple more weeks.

Well, after numerous attempts to make the fenders fit, we officially give up on them! The drivers side wasn't too bad (still isn't quite right though), but the passenger side is just hopeless. Anyone considering Seibon for carbon fiber parts needs to be aware that their stuff is JUNK! I had numerous issues with the parts I put on my 2010 Challenger also, but was able to make them fit. So, new fenders are on the way (finally) from Advan. They are made in the USA in California and have a one year warranty. We'll see how they fit next week when they get here...

Sorry that those Seibon fenders were junk.

Glad you have replacements and that things should fit a lot better...

At least if I have problems with these fenders I can call someone in this country for help!

Advan fenders are here. I'm really not that pleased with them. First, they're HEAVY. Totally made of fiberglass, with a piece of carbon fiber laid in the mold first is what it looks like. They didn't even wrap the carbon fiber around the edges for the most part. Since we're going to be painting most of the fenders, it shouldn't be an issue. If someone wanted to leave them all carbon fiber, it would not be acceptable. At least the body lines look correct on these as opposed to the Seibon fenders. They will get bolted up to the body next week and then we'll see.

Finally coming out of paint! The cell phone pics don't do it justice. I need to go back and take some with my good camera.

A few better pics. You can see the carbon fiber a lot better in these!

Frank, I REALLY like your interior...everything looks SWEET!!!...

Hi Frank, I've been reading your journal for quite some time and I have to say that I'm impressed with your tenacity for building your car to your vision. Love the carbon fiber additions to the car and the way you exposed it with the paint. Something I might consider when I finally get my own Camaro.

I think you should submit your car for COTW, it's very well deserved, especially the time and effort ($) put forth. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your car and other adventures you get into with it

Thanks. Carbon fiber can get addictive in a hurry and it's easy to go over the top with it. Some would think the more the better, but I like it tastefully done and not overdone. Everyone is entitled to his/ her opinion. As for Car of the Week, I may try for that when the car is done (if it ever is!).

You definitely have tastefully done nailed down . I think with the car finally painted, the updates to the powertrain and chassis and the mods to the interior, you would definitely IMVHO get COTW hands down . Oh! and the story behind the car and the amount of time you took to get it done to this point would definitely push it over the edge Well that's my .02 cents on the matter.

I have a couple more years before I can realize my dream, but I would like to thank you for your time and effort in sharing your beautiful ABM Camaro here on C5 and when I do get mine, hopefully I can get to apply some of the things you have done. In the meantime.....
