Good choice! The SS bumper does give the front end a little more aggressive impact. Especially if you're looking into adding a front splitter down the road.

I think she was referring to the impact absorber (the plastic piece that sits behind the bumper). There are more pieces which need to be changed to have the same factory set-up as the ZL1, but existing parts can be modified to fit (lower radiator shroud, fender well, impact absorber) or some ZL1 parts aren't necessary (like the brake ducts).

I still think the ZL1 front end was worth it, though slightly more complicated than switching to the SS front end from before.

One of the videos I took with my go pro yesterday, had it mounted on the outside of the car so maybe that explains the shakiness. Will have to mount it on the inside next time or maybe there is something else I have to do to fix it.

Supposedly it's more complicated to do this on a V6.

And no, I have not lost my marbles. (To the person who, unlike Jewel, passed judgement without at least seeking clarification).

I was under the impression that this was a site for people with a common interest to share ideas, but apparently it's a site to get flamed for your choices. Don't need the drama.
That will be me, and please don't miss understand me... I'm not trying to flame you, believe me SS bumper is a good choice! Just didn't get all that extra pieces things... my bad!

Pretty sweet! I've been wanting a gopro. I think YouTube has a video stabilizer on their site, but it gives me a headache when you put it on videos with lots of turns (like autocross).

I had a blast drag racing yesterday. SSlayer beat 2 supercharged SS's & a twin turbocharged SS before finally losing by red lighting to a minimally modified SS. Just an 1/8 mile track but still loads of fun. My best time was a 9.2368. It was a great day with temps in the mid 70's. I can't wait to see what difference my next modifications will make in my times. 60 ft times seemed to be killing some of the SS guys. My best was 2.0810 & I hit that exact same time X2. 60 ft times of those opposite me ranged from 2.1010 to 2.3068. I still need to work on my reaction times. My best was .1379. Some of the guys were hitting .00_ _ reaction times but I was not racing anyone when they hit those reaction times thankfully. So much fun!!!

I'll get videos posted up & pics of time slips maybe tomorrow. Here is a link to the thread on the event & I will post up time slips & videos there.

Did you click on the pop-up on Youtube that says "We noticed some shakiness in your video. Would you like us to fix it?" You just click "yes, fix it". It does not make them perfect but helps some. You may have to click on the advanced settings tab to get it. It has been a while but I'll see tomorrow when I try to post mine.

How exactly does a reply containing only two emoticons and no text constitute grounds for "getting flamed" and "drama"? I think that was a bit of an overreaction.

This V6 group is a fun-loving bunch and they pick on each other a lot but it's entirely good-natured. Learn to laugh a bit and you'll fit in fine. I can't speak to your experiences on the rest of the site but by and large it's a good place to hang out. You are certainly welcome to disagree, of course.

As has been said, plenty of people have done ZL1 bumper conversions and there is tons of advice to be had on how to accomplish it yourself but if the shop you went to scared you away from it, do what makes you happy.

Nicely done! I went 1/8-mile racing yesterday at Breakaway Dragstrip in Panama City with my ECC friends as part of the Car Club Challenge series. Lil' Nasty was there too.

I don't think I've ever cut better than a 2.1 60' but I was hitting low 9.2 ET's, best was a 9.21 on the last (and final) round. Although my ET was better, I took a nap at the tree and had to settle for runner-up for the day. ECC dominated in points though so that's a plus.
