Amazing #'s!
Wow, and still a 6.2 on 91 octane. Maintains that flat torque curve too Been following this thread from the start, nice to see it all come together for you. Looking forward to what the track day brings, hope those nitto's can get it done. If not, M&H now makes a 325/40 18 that an auto ZL1 pulled a 1.4 60' on. Yea, that torque curve impresses me the most. It shoots past 600 right away and holds it the whole time. That's gotta be those Mast heads. Few other points, we aren't aggressive on the timing, not pushing the rpms past 6500, and my car dynoed below 500hp stock on this same dyno.
This car is definitely a lot of fun on the street! At will, in any ptm mode, a throttle blip has you showing the rear end and counter steering! But at the same time it will idle in rush hour traffic all day long and not misbehave. It really is a daily drivable 700 hp! I really wonder if my best times on the drag strip might come from short shifting this thing and let that torque work for me... |

This is the winning combination for the ZL1. Those numbers are extradinary with the stock blower at that elevation and fuel used. I think we will see 760 from your car soon when you have a little better fuel.

That is exactly my thoughts. I would comfortably estimate +40rwhp on good gas putting it oh so close to 770.

Those MAST heads are the bomb to my understanding.
Regardless - you put together an OUTSTANDING combination. How were your IATs?

+1 IAT2's - on my way to heads and cam next as well, so very interested. Sorry if I missed it earlier in this thread, but what are the specs on the cam you are using?

Correct me if I'm wrong Damon but I think we saw IAT2s hit 112 at the end of the pull. That 724hp pull was after multiple pulls, not a cold pull after a long cool down. I think IAT (before supercharger) was in the low 90s. The KDI heat exchanger does a nice job and A/C in traffic works fine as well. Ive put 2500 miles on this car driving it to work in Phoenix, AZ prior to yesterdays dyno pulls. You don't know your driving 800+ horsepower when sitting in traffic.
Damon did a number of partial pulls first with the rev limiter low because the Livernois dual fuel pump threw the A/F ratio out of wack from the stock pump across the board. Great pump! I'm not complaining. I would recommend it. Just reacts differently than stock. This is why we ran out of time to do a race gas tune. Once Damon was ready for a full pull, we hit 697hp. Then we let the car cool for bit because that 697 was like the 4th or 5th pull if you count the partials and a lot of idling. After a short cool down, Damon added some timing and we hit hit 719. Then added a bit more timing and got 724. Decided that was a nice comfortable place to call it a great every day drivable 91 octane tune! Last edited by 1st Gen Forever; 10-18-2012 at 03:21 PM. |
