Maybe save the LS7 for a 50th anniversary Camaro Convertible, ah la 60th Anniversary Corvette..

What I was trying to get across was years in succession. Thats my idea of anniversary. It has to be continuous, you cant take a break for 7 years and just pick up like nothing happened.

The 2002 Camaro had a 35th anniversary edition because that marked that the Camaro had been produced for 35 years straight. Then the camaro dies untill 2010, and in 2012 theres a 45th Anniversary edition?

I'm not saying it needs to be, hell I hope you are right! But I am just guessing like everyone else and my guess is it will be in the upper 40's to 50K range and will not be equipped with an LS1. That's assuming a Z28 is even announced which I also highly doubt.

At that point the LS7 will be well outdated since it would have been out of production for a couple of years.

Just for fun, here's what I'm guessing for 2014:
  • LS7 engine option is a for sure
  • LT1 engine will NOT be offered
  • Non-ZL1 Front Facsia changes that will piss off all current ZL1 owners due to its similiarity
  • Rear Fascia changes will NOT include any euro-crap tail lights, minor stuff like exhaust bezels, new deck lid spoiler shape...
  • Very minor interior changes
  • A new blue exterior color in the vein of ABM or Kinetic Blue
  • and there will be no Z/28

As has been said a couple of times, the LT1 engine may only be advertised as 450hp, but has the torqy feeling of the LS7. Also, the LT1 in the Camaro will definitely help with CAFE ratings unlike the LS7 that would probably be rated along with the ZL1 and also have to pay a gas guzzler tax!!

Simply put, a production LS3 is about 5-6K while the LS7 is around 13K, 13+37=50K can't get more simple than that..

I was saying though the Z28 does not have to be an LS7...

And I sure hope that it doesn't! I guess that I am too old to think that the Z/28 should not have a motor larger than the SS engine. I am still crossing my fingers for a 5.3L DI non AFM engine hot cammed to about 450hp 7000 redline! With 1LE equipmet of course!

Yep. I don't think people realize how great the LT1 is capable of performing. I would be extremely surprised to see it offered in the same year as the C7 but that would be awesome. I just feel like they are saving it for the sixth gen Camaro. Why would they put the LT1 in the fifth gen and then keep it in the sixth gen? Everybody would be complaining about how the sixth gen has the same V-8 as the fifth.

If you're in a coma for seven years we will still celebrate your birthda so we can still celebrate for the Camaro as well.
