I wish I had the connections with a machine shop that could extrude, I'm certain if you took a stock llt and did all the machining and porting of the stock parts (minus a set of lt headers and a cai), you could milk 400+ crank N/A no problem. The engine runs a high enough comp. ratio, just lighten/hatchet head and balance the crank with stock rods/pistons, ported heads with a full radius valve job, port the riser/intake manifold and t/b. I don't think a stroker would even be needed, 3.6 would be fine.

just removing extra material and balancing....crazy ain't it? that's the expensive stuff
That would be the way to get the intake runners done right! Wish I knew the right people!

Like I already said in a PM, I would love to do a full head port job on this but I just don't trust my mechanical ability to get the heads off and back on in a timely and orderly manner.

I've done lots of motorcycle engine builds (porting included) and there is really nothing like a shorn scrotum.............LOL............I mean a motor that runs at its full potential.

P.S. sorry but I've never been able to master the multiple quote deal.

Exactly, which is why I'm never too impressed when someone has a FI car or is spraying. But when someone has a car that is all motor and is fast, then I'm really impressed. For instance a buddy of mine has a Mini Cooper S (turbo) and stock it runs around 15-15.2 and he got the boost dialed up and had a catback put on, that's it and now he's running 14.1

haha, it isn't anything against people that run FI cars or spray. It's just my personal opinion, I've always been a lot more interested in cars that are all motor.

I remember back in 2001 I purchased my very first 2002 WRB WRX suabru(the very 1st turbo suby's in the state). I remember it was a tiny little 2.0 litre and stock it was running around 14lb of boost and I think it did flat 14's all day in the 1/4. Long story short. Install a $200 bucks COBB piggy back and was hitting 13.5-13.6 all day long. Yhea.. that's factory turbo'ed cars for ya

Man this is just to cool, I cant wait till someone gets froggy and really jumps into one of these engines. I think we will find out the true potential of one of these little beast.

I know this engine is only 220 cubic inches and allready pushing 350 in some cases, what about torque and transmissions. I read that the 6L60e is only good for somewhere in the 375 torque range.

I could be wrong but just asking questions.

My 5000 pound BRICK with the 3.5L twin turbo EcoBoost ran 14.2 stock. Added just a tune and dropped it to 13.5. I now have a bit more aggressive tune that I haven't run at the track yet, but it should drop me down to 13.3ish. Stock the Brick did 0-60 MPH in 6.0 seconds, with this latest tune my 0-60 MPH is down to 4.8 seconds! All with just a simple tune!

Indeed the tranny is the next issue.

Im hoping the SS manual tranny can be swapped on a manual V6 as they already share a few similar parts.

If not Ill probably take it to a good performance transmission shop and get it built.

The bell housings of the V8 trans do not come close to bolting to the LLT block, but adaptors can always be made.

We have been running Gretchen hard w/the stock auto trans w/no issues. the stock converter is weak but our stall converter is a purpose built tuff as heck unit (not a restalled stock unit) so that takes care of that weak point. There are no available hard-parts to beef up the trans yet, or we would already be doing builds on them but in a year or two I expect to see some released.
