![]() Here is the location for Camaro5FEST IV if the Mod Quad listens to #2.99 ![]() V8 SUPERCARS ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT AT CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS, AUSTIN, TEXAS 2013 What is happening? V8 Supercars will become the first Australian motorsport to stage a full Championship event in the United States when it races at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, in 2013. The last time an Australian sport was exported to the United States was when an additional and controversial fourth State of Origin rugby league game was played at Long Beach in California in 1987. When is the race? This will be a traditional race weekend over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday but specific dates are yet to be confirmed. Is this a first? It is the first time any Australian motorsport category has competed in the United States. The agreement advances V8 Supercars’ international expansion with plans for up to six international races outside of Australia and New Zealand. Do people in America know about V8 Supercars? V8 Supercars is a growing sport in America. Americans watch V8 Supercars on the SPEED™ network throughout South and North America. The American sporting press have taken to V8 Supercars as an action-packed, ultra-competitive form of motorsport. Who will see the race? The event will be televised live on the SPEED™ network in North and South America. SPEED™ has more than 79 million subscribers in the US. It will also be telecast back to Australia and New Zealand and broadcast around the world via V8 Supercars’ international broadcast partners. Why are V8 Supercars racing more overseas? Overseas expansion is vital to the Championship’s future development. V8 Supercars’ global recognition has grown so much in recent times that the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has sanctioned it as an international series, paving the way for up to six offshore events in a calendar year outside of Australia and New Zealand. V8 Supercars’ evolution is driven by factors including: staging races in locations in Australia and overseas; extensive marketing to broaden the sport’s appeal; increasing the viability of teams and developing more meaningful and lucrative sponsorship arrangements, and; fully capitalising on media rights opportunities. What is the circuit? The Circuit of the Americas is under construction to host the 2012 Formula One United States Grand Prix and the 2013 MotoGP Grand Prix World Championships. The 5.5km state of the art circuit is the first purpose-built Grand Prix Circuit in the United States. It has an elevation change of 133 feet and is designed for any and all classes of racing – from motor power to human power. Circuit of The Americas is ideally situated on a 1000-acre site in southeast Austin, approximately two miles from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, with scenic views of downtown. What is Austin’s profile? Why Austin? Austin is known as the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’. Austin is renowned as being one of the hubs of the US technology industry, with fine dining, hospitality, world class night life and state of the art transportation systems, in one of the most scenic parts of the country. It is also a sister city to Adelaide where one of V8 Supercars’ biggest annual events is staged: the Clipsal 500. Southern America is the US’s cultural home of motorsport. Where is Austin? Austin is the capital city of the US state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Located in Central Texas on the eastern edge of the American Southwest, it is the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 14th most populous city in the United States. It was the third-fastest-growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2006. How do the cars get there? V8 Supercars are flown internationally by Australian company Gibson Freight who also transport Fomula One and MotoGP. More than 100 tonnes of equipment and 500 personnel travel to international events. Mark Reuss is an alum of Holden and a V8 Supercar fan. Can you imagine a C5FEST with Oppenheiser, Settlemire, Pilcher and Mark Ruess? We'll block out an entire section at the race for C5FEST seating. A special C5 VIP 'Show Car' display / parking area. Autograph sessions. Marcus Ambrose of NASCAR and V8 Supercar champion. C5 VIP Pit Passes. Pedders Safety Cars (AU for Pace Cars) on track Now we have the broad strokes. The Mod Squad will take it from here. |

The silent auction put on by the vendors this year was a hit. I picked up some coilovers for $1100 and a new custome leather steering wheel for $85. Also this Sunday morning at 5am, we will have a "Loudest exhaust" contest. The one setting off the most car alarms, or most people yelling "shut that damn thing off" will be declared the winner. After that, breakfast, trophy presentation, wrap up meeting, and then announcement for next CFest. I know, giving a years notice isn't really fair because this would make it bigger than it already is, as more people would be able to plan their life around it. Sorry, but that is how the new and improved "Rebel Board" looks at things. |

If you hadn't already connected the dots Pedders SUPERCAR Coilovers carry the V8 Supercar logo. We have a relationship with the V8 Supercars. Not that we would ever offer to help the Mod Squad in event planning because they are our sworn enemy.... but maybe after we win the war.... |
