btw...random thought....and a slightly sad one at that...I believe I will be foregoing the 5thgen Z.

At this point, I'm fairly certain I'm going to get a 5thgen SS/RS (not sure if I want 1 or 2, yet), and trade up to a 6thgen Camaro (preferably Z28) in about 5 years when it's payed off.

It was a matter of trade-offs...and I'd have to sell my soul to save enough for the Z, not to mention an earliest-expected buy date of Spring 2013 meaning 3 long years of car-boredom. So...I'm not gone by a long shot...I REALLY want to see this thing out and kicking a$$ YESTERDAY, but I'll be in an SS real soon.

I feel your pain.... I need a car in like the next 3 weeks but I cant decide If I want to buy a beater and wait for the '11 or just buy a SS now.... Orrrrrr just save for a Z.... This is seriously making my heart hurt

It is sad...Curse GM for offering so many great options.

Seriously...I don't need any more oompf than the SS has to offer. I'm a cruiser-type-of-guy, not a racer, and the SS will already give you a facelift everytime you hit the pedal...

But it all makes sense for my position. It's within my means to afford. And the longer I wait, the more things can happen to delay or altogether prevent a fun-car purchase. And I'd rather get a mid-tier car than not-at-all, ya know?

PLUS (and this is a good one), it'll be cheaper to insure than my Cobalt right now. NOT kidding!!

The only catch is that I'll have to pay about 25% more in gas and it'll have to be my daily-driver for that 5-year period. Which means a good investment in Snow Tires. Not a huge deal considering the experience....

hehehe...just thinkin'...not many people my age can say they drive a car like this as their primary mode of transportation. I can sense the envy from afar.

Well I know you won't be disappointed. It is an awesome car and and I am sure you'll enjoy it as a daily driver too.

Thanks! If a few miles on a non-broken-in car is any indication, I'll be happier than pig in...mud.

Leaning towards the LS3/M6....though the draw of a remote-start feature for these cold winters is strong...plus the traffic-taming automatic is a plus...but I need to justify $1000 more dollars...I'm already at my "limit"...

Amen...I'm at the color stage right now...which is a total cluster---- because there may be one or two new/different colors out for the 11MY...I don't know!

THEN - if I'm buying in April...what if the '12 starts production then? Should I wait an extra two months?



I think it'd be better to just not worry about it until January of next year...but it's so darn hard to put it out of mind.
