Hi there. Didn't read through all 154 pages but was wondering if any of you guys do track days. Not drag strip. Was thinking of doing the race school at the Glen this summer. Anyone here try it?

I'm out of the Syracuse area with UpstateC5. I've done Track Days since 2013 at the Glen with Trackmasters and a couple of BMW Club of America Chapters. Trackmasters is a for profit school that uses a lot of the same instructors that participate with the Genesee Valley Chapter (GVC) of the BMW Club. I've had my best experiences with the GVC Chapter. I think you'll get the best value for your money with the BMW or Porsche Club Events. They're not in it to make a profit and there's social activities after the track. BMW Club is not brand specific to participate. Join for about $50 a year. You'll save more than that the first school. GVC charges $100 extra for non-members and some chapters don't allow non-members to participate. GVC is also doing a half day novice school to get a feel for what a track day is like. Most Track events are two days. Four 1/2 hour sessions per day on track with an instructor plus classroom instruction. So you can do a half day to get a feel for it or a two day novice school.

I'm already registered for the GVC 4/30 and 5/1 event and plan on going to the 6/11 and 6/12 event also. Trying to get a couple more Camaros out there this year. I wouldn't wait to long to register. I missed the May GVC school last year because they were already full when I went to register in early April.
