This is no longer true. Just went into this dealer not ten minutes ago and was told $5000 over sticker and needed a $10,000 deposit. BS!

I just had an amazing thing happen. I got on the top of my dealer's list some time ago. I sent my salesman, who I have bought 2 new trucks from in the last 3 years, an email this morning asking how much they will want for deposit and to make sure they let me know when they get info on options, pricing and ordering.
I got a reply this afternoon where he said that because of the hype, limited supplies for first year and high demand for the car that the dealership owner would be asking MSRP +$10,000, yes TEN THOUSAND.
I sent a not so nice reply saying how dissapointed I was to hear this and they just lost my loyalty and there are plenty of dealers around the country offering not more than MSRP. I will be spending my money at one of these dealers.

He sent a reply back saying he talked to the owner explaining my previous purchases and showed him the e-mail I sent. teh owner said "Damn, he doesn't mince words, does he." My salesman said "no, he just says it the way he see's it." That's where the owner said since i'm a loyal customer and felt the way iI do that he would sell to me for MSRP and not a pennie more.
I know many of you may say you still wouldn't buy from them because of the whole thing, but I'm working on the gulf coast and it gives me a good reason to get home to Oregon for a week and a nice drive in style back down here in a brand new SS. They also showed afterall that they value my loyalty. Not every day you can talk a dealership out of $10,000. I also still get mine early on.

I also mentioned in my not so nice e-mail, what shortage, GM is expecting to build maybe 100,000 units the first year. Shortage will only last a couple months at most.

Anyway it shows even greedy bastards can be dealt with.

Send a message via AIM to Mr. Wyndham
Sometimes it's a bite in the butt to follow through with emails, visits, etc....but if you do, then a dealer has no weapon against an informed customer.

Arizona dealerships

Has anyone dealt with a dealership in Az. that isn't wanting a $10,000.00 deposit and $5000.00 over MSRP? So far, I haven't had any luck.
