Just FYI.....

I got a little bit of info on these new wheels from Weld Racing this morning....

"The RT-S and GT-S wheels are not quite ready to take orders yet. We are still working on a few things. The GT-S is going to be 20" diameter only MSRP $1750 each and we would be looking at maybe January before we are building them. We do not have the pricing on the new RTS yet but it will be about the same time for building them. I hope to have more information in the next week or two."

$1750 EACH?!?!?!?!?

Guess I'll be looking at purchasing one of the new RT-S designs (S75/S76) instead!!! Hopefully, they will be priced right around the same as the older S71's?!?!?

Ummmm Yeah.....I know for a fact that my checking account can't support that. I know the real world price might be a little bit lower than MSRP, but still........not gonna happen in my world!!!

At that price point it looks to me that they spent a lot of R&D $ for a product that will have a very small customer base. They'll be lucky to sell 10 sets at that price. Maybe the Rent-A-Wheel places are their target, but I would think a 24" or 26" would do better at Rent-A-Wheel.

1750? There are better options out there in that price range, and I'm not limited to 20s either.

I'm thinking the S76 in black would look killer!

Just placed my order today for S76's with McCormack Racing!!! Unfortunately, I probably won't see them until mid-to-late February. According to Weld, as of yesterday, they had only received two other orders so far for any of the new RT-S wheels, so I should be the third. I was told that the new S75, S76, and S77 have the same exact sizing and fitment as the previous S71. So, I ordered these part numbers....

(2) 76HB7050N22A -- S76, High Mounting Pad, Black, 17x5", 2.2" backspace
(2) 76HB7100N72A -- S76, High Mounting Pad, Black, 17x10", 7.2" backspace

I'm going to run the M&H 325/45R17 on the rear, but not sure which front.....might run the new Mickey Thompson Skinny Radial....not sure yet.

FYI.....Jim's Racing Tires quoted me $1832 (shipped). McCormack Racing originally quoted me $1912 (shipped), but after asking, they agreed to price match. Both are great companies, and both have a very good reputation as performance vendors. The only reason I went with McCormack is because I have ordered Weld Wheels through them before and was pleased with their service. I'm sure either company would be fine to order from, as either way, the wheels are drop-shipped direct from Weld after they are made. BTW...these prices are right in line with the prices for the older S71's. Gonna be a LONG couple of months now!!!

I emailed Weld about the S76's but received no response.

Your setup is about the same I'm looking for. If we're talking ~$1900, that's a price point I'm happy with.

Yeah, the price was pretty good I think. Deanna at Weld told me I should expect the new RT-S wheels to be at least $150-$200 more than the S71's per set of (4). But these prices were exactly the same. BTW....I had trouble getting e-mails back from Weld too!!! Works much better if you just call them. Deanna was friendly and helpful....on the phone.....on e-mail, not so much!!!
