Either way it sounds like we'll be waiting a while to see these new engines. Supposedly not too much is changing engine-wise in the 2010 (or at least that was the case last time I was on the Stang forums).
Has anyone heard differently? Will the 2010 redesign also include the twin-turbo V6 replacing the V8 or what?

From what I've read the Ecoboost will only cost an additional $700 to the consumer. However, the ecoboost V6 WILL replace the V8 in the GT, so you looking at GT cost plus $700

^Wait what? They're killing the V8 in Mustang? That's gonna have a lot of guys upset...meaning better business for the Camaro

Ok, um, in the OP, it mentions a 340hp ecoboost V6. I just spent 5 minutes looking at both of those links and it doesn't say anything 340hp squat, except by someone who posted a comment. Show me.

the thing that scares me is the fact that a chip/ reflash for the eco boost would prb yield very high numbers...
look how much power u get from the reflash for the 335 BMW

For under 2k you gain over 100rwhp easily and imagine the gains on a bigger engine persay. With a mod list of under 5k the boosted car from the factory will run circles around a n/a car in the same $ modded range. Now obviously if you make both turbo thats a whole other story but typically talking making a car that was n/a turbo is a pain in the ass since you mostly have to get internals since very little are forged from the factory and most have relative high compression to make power na. Not to mention while you are it you need numerous fuel system upgrades. Summary if I want to keep the stock warranty, spend under 5k modding the car and get the most giddy-up for the $ it is the boosted car hands down. Andrew |

I wouldn't be surprised to see the turbo eco-tech become the base engine and a turbo 3.6DI become available with the F3 suspension. That would spank the mustang.

Just throw a cam/intake/exhaust/slicks/tune on the SS and you won't have to worry about 95% of cars on the road.

Something else to consider is that the Ecoboost has similar numbers to an SS but will weigh a whole lot less.
