Spring rates are similar to stock Z/28, but the sway bars are much larger/heavier duty. I also upgraded the sway bar bushings and brackets that came with the speed 1 kit with delrin bushings and billet brackets.
Bushings and brackets BMR products? Subjective I know, but how does it ride on the street vs. stock?

Yup - BMR bushings and brackets.

Ride quality is pretty much exactly the same as stock. Biggest difference I noticed on track with respect to ride quality was less body roll. There is already very little body roll to begin with, so it's not a drastic difference in that regard.

Really digging up an old thread here... I acquired a DSE Speed 1 kit and am contemplating installing it on my Z. When under the car I noticed the ride height style sensors on the rear control arms. Did you all shorten these a specific amount or just leave them be?

I think they should be left alone.

I recently tried my OE 1LE front bar with the DSE springs and rear bar, I think the OE front bar (27mm solid) is stiffer than the DSE bar (28.5mm hollow). My car is more responsive and a little less body roll. Note that the OE Z/28 bars are smaller in diameter than the OE 1LE bars.

Not only is the 1LE front bar solid vs the DSE bar, most likely making it stiffer, its bushings grip the bar where as the DSE uses poly bushings that allow the bar to move freely. The Z/28 and 1LE mounts grip the bar tight, giving a little bit more effective stiffness.

Lowered Z28

I’ve lowered both my Z’s and I can’t tell any difference it ride or handling.

As I’ve mentioned, I have an SS 1LE with the DSSVs and other Z arms and bushings. So it’s not a comparison to the Z mostly because of the Z’s substantial reduction of unsprung weight. That less unsprung weight will affect the chassis more than anything. My experience with the full Z suspension vs the DSE Speed Kit 1 on track is that the car is just a tiny bit slower to respond to transitions/quick directions. This most likely won’t be felt with street driving.

I mentioned my change from the DSE front ARB to the 1LE front ARB. I do now believe that the 1LE bar is stiffer than the DSE bar. This has increased responsiveness and steering feel. On the track there is less body roll. Because I felt that I increased the understeer of the front due to the stiffer 1LE bar, I increased the stiffness of the rear DSE bar, only slightly. I have one side of the bar in the middle hole, and the other side full stiff. The result at the last track day was amazing. The car would rotate on throttle from the center-off.
