Probably going to sound like a 4-banger with a big fart can.

It's been mentioned many times that ont he A6 you should really get it tuned out.

I have it on my L99.... I turned the AFM off right after I installed it because I heard from others as well "It sounds nasty!!!" ...... I know on the flowmaster video with the 2010 Camaro is a L99...."note that he was using the paddle shifters"

I was beteen the American Thunders and the JBA cat back system. I decided to go with the JBA because of price difference. I took it to a local muffler shop and they installed it for me ( I had them weld the joints together instead of using the clamps that came with it) and they only charged me $100 to do it all.

I too have the Flowmaster American Thunder and purchased from Maryland Speed. Fast shipping as stated above and paid about $650.00.

The sound exceeded my expectations after listening to all the clips on Youtube. I had my wife drive the car past me so I could hear what it sounded like...I believe I may have peed a little as mentioned above, but I know for a fact I got wood!

Very nice sound and quality for HALF the price of others.

quick question for v8 flowmaster amt members:

how did u guys fix the clearance problem between the exhaust and the tunnel brace? because i readjusted mine 4x now and i can get it to clear but because it sags as time goes & it hits the stock tunnel brace again. i was thinking of getting the exhaust system welded together as 1 piece to prevent it from moving but that's kind of my last option. (aftermarket tunnel brace is an option too but i just cant justify my self buying a $100+ part that does'nt do a lot. id rather buy the hotchkis chassis brace for $500+) i alreaddy did a quick fix on it but i want to hear more opinions maybe from a flowmaster rep too.

2nd...do we have anyone here who is an exhaust genius need to ask some questions. thanks

I've never had a problem with mine. Before tightening up the clamps we just put a wedge between brace and pipes. After everything was tight, we took the wedge out and always had about 1/2" of clearance ...

The first time I put it on I had about 1/2 inch of clearance so I put a couple washers on just to be safe. I adjusted it again by undoing the bolts, holding the pipes up individually just after the xpipe and having someone else tighten them down while I'm putting pressure on them. Now close to 3/4 inch.

The wedge is a good idea if you don't have an extra set of hands. You should be able to get this with a little bit of fooling around and not have to use washers or spacers of some sort.

What ronn said is exactly the way the American thunder cat back assembly sounds I installed mine last weekend and I couldnt have described it any better. Performance wise it has a better response time when accelerating and feels like my camaro is less restricted and the exhaust air flows freely. Hey ronn you said you installed super40 flowmasters doesnt the AMT cat back assembly come with classic 40 series muffler?

My mistake just looked it up again and you're right.
