Ok so the next question. Did you leave your factory amp plugged in when you ran the new amps?

Yes. The metra kit still uses the factory center channel speaker to run the onstar and bluetooth audio, so to my knowledge you have to leave it connected.

He said in post. 90 lbs of Second Skin Damplifier.

I had a question about the headunit replacement. What about your vehicle functions that were controlled through the headunit? Things like turning the headlights on/off when you remote lock/unlock. Can you still access those?

Also, what about the steering wheel controls? Are you able to tie those to the new headunit?

As far as the vehicle functions... I have full functionality of everything except the volume control. My head unit wasn't designed to have a lot of features. It's a fantastic sound quality unit, but we skipped on the SWC. Everything else is pretty much done through the metra interface. So headlights, unlock and etc.

And yes, Second Skin Damplifier pro for the deadening. A full list is attached to the youtube video in the description

good looking install...

two questions for you, if you dont mind, where did you get the trim rings on the doors? Are those original SS Ref's? Arguably one of the best amps ever made...

Your two answers...

The trim rings were fabricated from a metal shop close to where we did the install.

The Soundstream amps aren't the original amps from a decade ago, if that's what you are asking. They are brand new amps. Apparently soundstream is making quite the comeback. I'm very happy with them. One of the best bangs for your buck at the moment as well
