Chase, is anyone looking to fit these gears into an A6 model?

Not that I am aware of, but I don't think this is going to work for you A6 guys. The rear end in the V6 M6 is very similar to what is in the V8 cars but the rear end in the V6 A6 is a different animal.

I got charged 8 hours but its the first 2010 for the shop that I used. I'm sure the next guy will get it done for a couple of less hours. I use him because he is a friend I trust and did gears for me before with absolutely no issues.

Gets discouraging. Makes me want to trade in for a ss m6.It sure seems GM intended the v6 a6 to be nothing more then a commuter car. Oh wait, they did!

wow this is awesome news, I will definitely be getting this upgrade! Heavier cars definitely need the higher gearing this thing will feel like a v8 in the lower end now for sure, although it will probably reduce the top speed of the car. I have a 3.73 posi in my wheezy old 305 monte ss and it launches off the line a lot better than this car but then it dies off because its just a stock 305, im excited to see the 1/4 mile times on these manuals now.

Read this. The only things that may not be covered would be the gears themselves and parts downstream from them, like the axles.

Wish the M6 V6s had a taller 6th gear. it's only a .75 overdrive vs. the A6s .67 overdrive. But then again the tires are really tall so rpms at 80mph shouldn't be totally out of line.

My guess is that going from 3.27s to 3.73s would lower 0-60 times anywhere from .3-.4 seconds so it would be very noticeable.
The '99 Olds Intrigue with the 3.5L DOHC 215hp engine was .2 seconds faster with the 3.29 gears vs. the '00s 3.05 gears.

My '07 Caddy SRX 3.6L had 255hp/255tq and 3.73s it was as fast from 0-30 as my 320hp/315tq V8 SRX 0-30 with 3.23s.

The 3.73s will make a noticeable difference.
