They are re-desinging the Impala - rear drive, powerful...ZETA! should be a nice car.

That's more of a cushion for GM, they can realistically produce them mid 08 (remember they really want to get these out the door), but just in case something goes awry in their plans, they can definitly sent it out in first 1/4 of 09. So they tell us, the consumer, that date so they don't look like they were delayed in any way. Nobody will ever know if they were or not.

I think that this is also part of the reason they have the latest announced release date...

I would personally rather have it be released later so most of the kinks are worked out. Because you know how it is with new models. Some bugs
have to be fixed and it's usually a year later when models are released
with fewer problems.

Well, sure. But the best way to work out the kinks is to get it out there on the guinnea pig first-year buyers..

They can only work out so many problems inside the studio, the real-world, everyday problems are unfortunatly for the consumer to find.

It's sort of the same thing with the Internet and Computers. I'm sure you've all come across a 'beta' version of something. Same deal. they debugged it as much as they thought they could, and are testing it in a real-world application.

The upcoming version of any car is usually released in August or September of the prior year. Example, 2009 cars will be available in August or September of 2008. This is just a thought, and the way it "normally" happens.

I agree that GM is and will be doing every thing they can to get this car out to the customers earlier than the release date. They would rather say a later date and release early than say it will be POSPONED, OUCH.
