So has anybody heard anything on it yet or is all Im going to get, exactly what I said I DIDNT want the thread to be about in the first post. I didnt start this thread to argue the safety factor of them, I was just wanting to know if anybody knew and or could give some information on them for this car.

I saw Scott at Carlisle, but he was very busy, and unfortunately, I didn't get to ask him. I asked another friend who is quite involved with the concept, and he has no news either. If I had to guess, I'd think the coupe might have airbags in the wheel and passenger-side dash, as well as side curtain airbags. The 'vert would have the same, with the difference being instead of side airbags, they would be similar to those on other 'verts, with the bags in the sides of the seats.

Thanks Dragon!!
As I said previously I highly doubt we'll see a new Camaro with only passenger and driver airbags. I cant say whether it will have side impact or side curtain or both, but to be sure you'll have at least one of them on any level of vehicle that an enthusiast would want( it may not have them on the very base cars) GM is very safety conscious and making a concerted effort to improve their image as a safety minded company, they began using tire inflation monitors ong before they were required(federally required phase in on all passenger vehicles starts in 2008) Onstar is going to be standard in all non commercial vehicles by 2010, vehicle stability control will also be standard on all retail vehicles by 2010. These are things we are just going to have learn to deal with, and that includes the added weight, complexity, and potential dilution of the driving experience.(IMO)
